installing hood pin ?'s

i plan on installing front hood pins on my ascd big block hood, since i've pretty much rendered the laching mechanism on my hood useless. ive called around body shops and they are all hesistant to install them, along with making my hood functional in the front. what gives? is this hard stuff to do? can i do it myself? thanks

i think that the reason behind hood pins is not in acutality the pins, but the drilling. i drilled my fiberglass ram air hood (ASCD) to make it functional, and it was a bit of a mess. the holes didnt really come out that neat. another thing is the hole alignment, you want the pin as low as possible on the hood, to avoid clearance of the pins with the hood opening and closing. thats what i think is the most important part.

i did the pins on my stock metal hood and it turned out pretty good. of course, i have my dad to thank for that.
