The wife backed into my IROC... Grrr!

What a day... yesterday my wife and I took a drive to Gatlinburg in the camaro, hit Hot Rods diner and did a little shopping. So I left the car in the driveway rather than in the garage as I had planned to wash the salt off of it today. As she was leaving for work she backed her 09 Impala into the drivers side door and fender on my car. I was furious... still am. Took it to the body shop and got quoted $2100.00 to install a new fender and repaint the whole car. So I guess it's getting a fresh paint job.

Sure stressed me out though! Lol

The door doesn't look too bad in the pic but it's hard to tell on my phone, replace the fender yourself and have them blend the door and fender in, probably save you a good amount of money

I'd say that fender is probably salvageable, but it is easier to slap a new one on.

Thought that stuff only happened to me. Sorry about your car, probably ruined both of your days.

Re: The wife backed into my IROC... Grrr!

2A auto body in Fort Oglethorpe, GA is doing the paint and repair work. I had them repair some damage on my 02 Silverado a while back, they had to repaint the drivers fender and blend in the door and hood, truck looked amazing. So I'm not concerned about quality. The owner is a really nice guy... he cut me a big discount being a return customer.

For $2100.00, they are replacing the drivers side fender, taking the ground effects, front and rear bumpers off the car along with weatherstripping and trim. Fixing any imperfections in the body and painting the car base / clear. All while disassembled, then installing my new weatherstripping, hood louvers, trim and emblems. This shop is always busy so I'm sure his quantity of work allows him to cut discounts here and there. I'm not complaining... had one estimate for $1900.00 just to replace the fender and fix the door.

The fender is trashed so I'm having the shop install a new one. It sucks it happened, but now I'm parking the car in the garage away from my wifes car. So hopefully it won't happen again. lol

I could only imagine! My ex wife totaled her Monte Carlo the week after we paid it off, and of course we dropped the insurance to liability. Learned my lesson... then I bought her a 2005 GTP Grand Prix. About six months after getting the car she got rear ended, luckily it wasn't bad.

Now my current wife backs into my car...

What is it with some women? ha ha... good thing your daughters accident didn't damage anything on that new car. I would be sick too!

Don't be too mad at her.... She may take the car in the divorce and you won't have anything for the next wife to hit. LoL Kidding.
