Gta Molded Door Panels

I saw this clip of the GTS Molded door panels,

I'd really like to see some more detailed photos of these doors. Assuming from general knowlegde these panels will fit in my Camaro, I'd just like to find some now.

theoretically they'll fit a camaro since the camaro/firebird share the same doors. However you'll have a Firebird emblem on the door since the door handle bezel uses a trim plug with a molded in Firebird logo to cover a screw hole.

Door panel

That's my door
Those handles are the molded type--so you won't be able to use the regular Camaro interior handle on them.
This car came w/the regular interior panels--all I had to do was drill some holes in the interior metal and they went right in!
Good luck in finding them tho--took me forever to get my hands on a set.

My car is an 86 T/A--but it's a hodge podge of parts
it has all of the GTA amenities. The car originally came w/the regular door panels that had the map pockets in them

Are these door panels exclusivly for the GTA models cars or did they come as a special package on the traditional T/A? MY 88' T/A has these and they are stock, yet when I got my car it did not have any of the GTA badges, but it does have the Ws6 package. Let me know what you guys think.

That's what I was saying! Mines not a GTA but mine come on the car because I've never replaced them and I've had the car for like 8-9years.

They also came on some Formulas too.
I've personally seen them on reg T/A's--but I'm not sure of the year. It was all stock.

I was told they were part of an interior upgrade package on the TA's and Formulas, but they have been known to show up on a firebird or two from time to time.

I used a set for my custom door panels that I'm working on. Picked them up off ebay in good condition for like $25 each plus shipping.

DAMN!! That was cheap! In good shape? Everything there? Were the pockets in good shape? The elastic on them usually stretches out--just like the pouches on the overhead consoles do.

Actually they were available on any model Firebird (not sure about year range, I will have to look it ip (85-89??). The Interior option was called "Deluxe" With the door panels you would also get pockets on the seat backs. I have seen 2 base firebirds with the molded armrests, the same guy was selling both...

Here is where it can get confusing:

There is a chart I have on my web-page, if you want to figure it all out.

Say for example you have the RPO code of 19C

"19" indicates color this case its Black.
"C" is the option level this case its cloth, letters seem to be cloth combinations, Numbers seem to indicate a leather interior.

First thing you look at is the color chart, and find 19C you will notice that the seat Option code is AR9 which would be for the standard seat type option (non-articulating).

The next column indicates the "Trim level" which is M2 that indicates Custom for the "M" in M2 and seat design 2. Then there is the "Trim" which is the door panels etc. depicted as 3C the 3 is the 3rd design, and the C indicates "Cloth"

Hope that clears that up...

John

Yep!! Crystal clear!!

On my 86 T/A--the original seats--2 tone gray-had pockets on the back of the front seats- but the car had the regular door panels--wasn't any rpo code sheet tho--as usual!

Save the rare door panels from the blade. Just get some kick panels for the floor that will sound better anyways.

Coincidentally, I have(had) the "deluxe" door panels on my 87 formula. I need some new ones because the previous owners (my parents) did cut holes in them and not only did it sound like crap, the speakers got kicked in and trashed as well as the wiring.

I want new grey door panels....

I have those on my car to bad you didnt post this 3 months ago I gave a set away I had to re do mine the cloth on the inside started to come lose so i tok it to an auto apolstry (spelling) shop and they did a good job at fixing them he used a backer board and cut it out to the shape needed and then covered it to match my seats and then made like a clamp to hold it all together from the back while I had it off I decided to change from manual to power merrors so I had to fill a hole in them so I put a set of 2 1/2 tweeters in the door ware the control for the merror was. they look good when it comes back from the body shop I will take a few picks.
If your ever in NC you can take a mold of them.
