vinyl dye for interior parts

I was planning on getting some black vht vinyl dye from summit ($5 a can, why not) to freshen up my interior and also get all the parts to match perfectly. They have both satin black and gloss black dyes. Which would be preferable in an application like this?

also, ive heard people who have done this before used a combination of paint and dye, so what should i paint and what should i dye, or could i use dye on everything?
