Any idea how inside clearance on the C5 Z06 wheels, compares to the C5 wagon wheels?
Not sure, don't have any to try out.

I thought maybe the rotor pushed out the wheel some, but Ed Miller said it should be the same thickness as the stock rotor. I couldn't tell you for sure because i never measured where the wheel was before. It looks to be close to the same.
Got mine all mocked up today. I was suprised, I actualy have a lot of room, almost wonder if 14" ones wouldn't have cleared. I think 13.5" rotors, and 4 piston brembo's should be plenty of stopping power though. Wouldn't want to over-do it or anything.
I had some problems with one of my hubs, so am going to be making a new one. Once that is done, I'll get them installed and see how they do!
Got the new hub machined this weekend. I am hoping to put it all on the car on Tuesday. I need new tires though, so I won't really be able to give it a good test until I get those....
Someone I know is excited........ Remember to heat cycle them for a few days and don't let temptation take over.

I friendly word of advice, Check thoroughly the turn radius with the car sitting still and see where that caliper hits the a-arm. With that turn stop missing, you could potentially chew the hell out of that caliper if you have the wheel truned far enough and are hitting decent bumps (i.e- bumpy parking lots or just turning up the car breaching speedbumps.
It would be a shame to mar them up, you may be able to avoid such a thing from happening if you check it first- Things might be perfectly fine, but if niot then try and weld a tab there somewhere for contact on radius limit.

Good advice Dean. I will double check that, I didn't notice any issues before I reconnected the tie-rods, but will double check for contact between locks.
Well got stuff like 95% installed. Ended up needing new ball-joints, so I did that while I was in there today. I got everything but the brake lines hooked up, I sent Ed an e-mail about that, so I am sure a solution will be soon in coming.
Anywho here are the pics.
One issue we ran into, is that the lower caliper bolt wants to interfer with the a-arm. The easy solution was to put that bolt onto the bracket before instlaling the spindle, then slide the rotor/caliper on as 1 unit, and the bolt it down.
Here is a shot of the brackets and spindles attached. (I know, the car is a mess ops: )
Finishing up putting everything on, I think it looks good. Hopefully they stop good too.

And on the car, with it set down and the wheels on. Subtle, but you can't mistake that for stock.

All I need to do now, is figure out the brake lines, and bleed the brakes, it should be all ready to go. Going to get some new tires, and an alignment before i can really give any good feedback as to the stopping power. I do suspect that I am going to be in need of an adjustable prop-valve. So that will likely be going in, in the very near future.
Nice, John, very clean look to the car. I sent you a reply on the lines but it shouldn't be a major issue to remedy. Testing is the best solution to this kinda stuff anyway. What's your feeling on a minor bracket change that clocks the caliper up a couple of degrees? Do you feel this will help?
I don't know that it would. Things are tight enough that if you tried to clock it up higher, you might get into the support arms of the bracket, with the small allen headed bolt. Since we had to clearance just a hair for that bolt on the caliper (I ended up taking a little more out beyond what you had already done). I would worry that if you clocked it up further, you would need to take a larger ammount of material out. It might not hurt to try, but I don't know that it would help, it may still have a slight clearance issue with that bolt and the a-arm. I don't think that is a big deal, you might just want to let people know before hand. with the 14" rotor kits, that shouldn't be an issue at all.
I can't see why you couldn't rotate caliper mounts up enough to just kiss under the turn stop and utilize leaving most of the stop in there. May still have to trim the spindle stop slightly, but 90% leave it intact. just an opinion.
I know my caliper spread was tighter so I could clock mine up high, so I am not saying get them both up in the center like I have mine, but maybe just so that lowest one is just up against the stop.

Clocking up slightly might be an option. The thing I worry about, we had to clearance the caliper back right where Ed is pointing in the picture. Since it is in a pretty non structural part of the back , I wouldn't worry about clocking it and having it hit the support webbing. I wouldn't want to have to clearance any up the support webs.
i did my setup a few months back i have the ZO6 rotors and all the calipers are the same size (the big ones ofcouse) like it? i hope you do. enjoy the pics

John, I've tweaked the bracket pattern a bit but have yet to make them but I clocked it up 5* or so. And if you take a close look, there is actually less material to remove in the areas closer to the lugs, the casting tapers down which opens that area up a bit.
I really want to run this setup on my car but I really don't know if my wheels will clear them. They are 17s but with a weird center lip for a hidden valvestem. Is there any sort of measurements that I can take to see if they will fit or not? They are for a 4th gen so I have to run a spacer for them to fit so that doesn't help any.

thanks for the comliments, the wheels are by HD performance and they are called MSR. they are 19x10 rear and 19x8 front.
Well, finaly got a chance to drive the car with the new brakes on. It stops. fast. I probably need to start looking into a slightly larger MC, as I have a pretty soft pedal now, that takes a bit of travel. I would prefer a little firmer pedal, with more feel. That will come.
Balance seems OK, I'm going to do the bedding process, and hopefully get a feel for lockup points, Likely a prop-valve will be going on sometime in the near(ish) future.
The only other thing I noticed, is that the stock CTS-V brake pads, dust like crazy. I'm going to get real good at washing wheels. Or get sick of the dust enough, to spend some money on other pads.

It's the same with the z06 pads. With how much dust they toss out I was wiping down the wheels at least once a day. I eventually got new pads though.
I just thought I'd post the park number for the CTS-V Brembo caliper pin kit. This kit includes the pad retainer clip and two pins. One kit is needed per caliper.
Just checking in with guys running the CTS setup: How's it working for you? Any issues? Comments good and bad are appreciated.

Can anybody tell me if the CTS setup with 14'' Z06 is beter than the OEM C6 Z06 6pistons calipers with 14'' rotors?
Are the vette calipers more heavy than CTS?
Can one purchase the 13.4" CTS-V kit from you? Or would I have to purchase the calipers and rotors separately elsewhere? I only saw the 14" kit available on your website.
