Car: buick century Engine: 3.1L buick goodness Transmission: automatic WWD Axle/Gears: I don't know | glazed pads/rotors? I've noticed as of late I have a problem with stopping. it seems that when I hit the brakes they do ok up to a point but at this point when pushing harder the stopping force doesn't seem to icnrease much. it used to be I could lock the tires up now I can't. it's even worse when cold.
took the rims off and noticed the rotor was smooth as can be. it did have the typical wear marks going around the rotor in a circle but these wouldn't help grab. shouldn't the rotor have some friction surface to it rather then this smooth as better then the babies bum?
I know when I changed the pads from stock replacements to the hawk (think i was the hps) and I didn't surface the rotors as I was too broke at the time to do this. I did bed in the pads fairly well though on a bad road somewhere and it was all 4 wheels that had the pads replaced.
did I glaze the rotors you think? if so how can I fix and do the pads need replaced or can they be fixed if they are glazed? | | |
