Possibly a bad proportioning valve??

I recently took my entire brake setup off my car and put it on a buddies camaro. I changed everything from the hoses on down. Including spindles and brackets. The works. My car didn't stop very well when I took the stuff off. When I got done with his camaro I took it for a ride to check out my work. I did a couple of quick stops and his camaro stopped like I threw out an anchor. I mean I damn near went through the windshield. So whats the deal?? I change the master on my car cause I though that was the problem. Is it a bad valve or obstructed line or what???? Can I get a new valve somewhere?
