Hopefully not too long, I'll get the spacers cut when I get back and see how the other setup works out. Some 9 bolts did get drums although they're not too common but this concept should work on both drum and disc rears as I have it now. We'll see in a couple weeks. Thanks for the patience.
Ed need your help.
I have an 87 9 bolt with the iron calipers. I would like to upgrade to either the stock aluminum calipers (89 and up) or go with the c5 calipers. What would i need to do to get the stock aluminum calipers to work? what would i need to do to get the c5 calipers to work? advantages or each? Thanks! Here's a couple pics of my backing plates, so you can see what is currently equipped.

You have the same rear end as i have (iron calipers) where the dr. side is trailing and the pass side is leading. You will need new backing plates to mount the calipers, as they are trailing. You'll also need new parking brake cables and new hard lines (or fab some yourself).

Iv had a few 9 bolts i would think it would be fairly easy to make some type of bracket. when i was painting one with discs i also pulled a 4thgen rear out of my friends car to replace it with something better from what i can remember the 10 bolt 4thgen rear i pulled with discs has the same axle housing flange as the 9 bolt like this i was going to take them both apart to see if they would bolt up but never got around to it. anyone know if there the same flange design?

All 10 bolts have the same flange for disc brakes. The 9 bolt is the one with the different flange but if you swap the 10 bolt ones laft to right you can re-drill them for the 9 bolt pattern so none of the holes overlap. I did it with the BAER 10 bolt backing plate for the PBR setup, I put them on my 9 bolt because BAER wanted a lot of money for the backing plates

As scooter mentions, the bolt pattern on the backing plate is different between a 9- and 10-bolt. Ed's catalog lists several 9-bolt plates, to include those that accept 12 and 13" rotors.

I was wondering if you ever finished the drum to C5 disc plates with the parking brake set-up like you have pictured here? I looked on your web site and didnt find anuthing other than the ones you have posted at the beginning of this post. I am very interested in the ones posted here towards the end. Your parts look top notch! Keep up the GREAT work, Thanks
I know this is an old thread but i was wondering if you have this plate kit for the disc rear ends. pleas let me know, Im really interested in getting my hands on these if not ill have to make them. im going to use the C6 Z06 brakes with the parking brake or maybe i could use a hydraulic parking brake and not have to us the factory parking brake. Let me know what you think. THANKS
