Rear Backing Plates

I can't seem to get any responses, but I am definitely in need of some rear backing plates. I just came across some rear 89' PBR calipers, and I am piecing together a rear braking. If anyone has any info on getting some backing plates, please PM me.

Andy's seem quite expensive, I'm trying to do this on the cheap. I rather like Ed's backing plates but I can't get a response from him, so I'm kind of dead in the water with my upgrade.

Re: Rear Backing Plates

I had a death in my family so I've been away from the boards for a bit. I do have the plates for you, rather affordable, and I'll get back to your PM as soon as I can. I have 160 in my inbox to get to and e-mails as well. I apologize for the delay but I'm sure you understand.

My condolences! Didn't mean to be pushy...I'm just excited but finally being able to do this upgrade. I'll be waiting for that PM!

Re: Rear Backing Plates

I bought mine from the GM Dealer when I did mine 4 years ago. I suspect that they still sell them. I'll look to see if I still have the part numbers. I think I got the info from JamesC.

Re: Rear Backing Plates

I checked on that when I purchased the rebuild kit for the rear calipers at the dealer. Part number has been discontinued.

Re: Rear Backing Plates

Correct, all 3rd gen disc backing plates are now discontinued from GM. I do have a few OEM plate sets on hand as well as my own custom pieces (stock to 13" rear rotor size) that work the same and will cost you less.
