Check out the bottom of our Boy Scout page www.masontroop763.com
it is a .DWG drawing. My son made one that has the deminsions he should have it tomarrow so I can post it when I get a chance.
You can open it with a free program from Autocad called DWG TrueView.
We made ours out of 3/8 stock but had to cut it down to 5/16 thick to get the caliper centered on the rotor.
PM me your e-mail and I can send you the drawing if you have issues opening it.

Re: ls1 spindal bracket cad drawing

sweet thanks a lot, thats basicly what i needed i'm able to grab the dimensions off that drawing. Only thing is do any of these holes need counter bored or such. As well are we positive that it needs to be 5/16" thick to fit correctly.

Just want to make sure becuase i can do this at where i worked my last internship at but its a 40 min drive there and dont want to be driving back and forth making changes.

Lastly if you can tell me if any of the holes need to be counter bored or if they are just through holes i can finally get a drawing with all the correct hole call outs and dimisions you would need to make this part and save it in a .dwg and .pdf file so everyone would have access to this.

I'm a mechanical eng. student right now so i have access to solidworks/autocad on my school laptop.

Thanks again
Justin

Here's a pic of the bracket I made . I had to use a countersunk bolt in one location to clear the abutment .

Re: ls1 spindal bracket cad drawing

Justin,
The brackets we may for my sons's '92 and my '88 are 5/16 thick we had 3/8 stock but had to surface grind them to 5/16.
Ours we did not counterbore or countersink the holes the abutment JUST clears a 7/16 grade 8 hex head bolt.
the holes were all 7/16 on the brackets we made...

Re: ls1 spindal bracket cad drawing

I tapped mine 1/2" and used grade 8 also but the head must just be a little thicker so I used a counter sunk bolt on the bottom .

Re: ls1 spindal bracket cad drawing

awsome guys, thanks a lot. I'm going to make the brackets on the cnc mill this friday. If everything fits correctly to how i made it i will make a drawing of it with all the dimisions and hole call outs so there is no confusion for others who would like to attempt this.
