Odd Brake Sounds - HELP!!

Hi , I'm getting a squeel from my front left wheel , that quits when I compress the brakes ( push the pedal.) Anybody have any ideas what it could be ? I was thinking the pad needs to be replaced or the calliper but I would like a second opinion before I break into the job.

Re: Odd Brake Sounds - HELP!!

It seems like we have a similar problem, I have a noise that seems to be coming from my left front wheel , but I'd describe it as 'chirping', not squealing. I've changed rotors, bearings, pads, and calipers, (not because of this problem, but simply because they needed to be replaced) yet it still persists. It usually doesn't make this noise, and when it does it isn't very loud, I've never had a passenger notice it.
So, my advice is exactly as you said it, find other opinions, as (at least for me) replacing everything that seemed like could possibly be making the noise didn't fix the problem.
