LS1 calipers with 1LE rotors?? Will it work?

I PMed this to ebmiller88 but maybe someone on here can help also.
My original plans were to upgrade to "LS1" brakes with 12" rotors. My stepfather machined the conversion caliper brackets from CAD files found on TGO and I was going to buy the other parts.

Here is the LS1 bracket I had made for me out of 3/8" steel.
Example:

Recently I came across a friend of mine with either 11 3/4" or 12" 1LE slotted rotors that he would sell to me as a pair for a good price.

Here is the question that maybe you guys could help me with.
According to http://www.thirdgen.org/techboard/fa...s1-brakes.html (98+ CAMARO “LS1” Brakes: Bigger & Better Period) thread, the "LS1" brake rotors are 1.25" thick, which is thicker than the stock 1.05" 1LE rotors.

So, Would I be able to use the brackets that were made for the LS1 calipers with the 1LE slotted rotors?
I understand that either route I go I am going to have to modify a set of spindles.
Has anyone ever done a setup like this before? How did it work out?
I appriciate the help very much.
Thanks,
Dennis

Re: LS1 calipers with 1LE rotors?? Will it work?

You will not be able to use the 1LE rotors due to the offset, you will not be able to fit the caliper bracket & caliper carrier in-between the rotor and the spindle
