I just put an 84 rear with disc brakes in my 89 Iroc. Now i need to buy a disc/disc proportioning valve. I found one at flynbye.com. Just wanted to make sure that is the right one before ordering. '82-89 1LE/J65 Proportioning/Combination valve Thanks, Jason

You'll note that the above is for swapping the 1LE/J65 (89-92 PBR's with alum calipers and 11.7" rotors) into an earlier car. An 84 would have standard Delco-Moraine iron calipers and 10.5" rotors. A valve from an 85-88 (some 84's may have SAE fittings) rear disc car might be a better choice. That said, hopefully your 89 has the first design valve fittings: M1.0 tube nut threads (for 1982 to early 1989 applications), which would allow you to easily use the 85-88 valve. The second design, late 1989, is different: M1.5 tube nut threads.

Or you might consider swapping in PBR's:

does anyone make the prop valve that I need? I'm not planning on upgrading the brakes to PBR just yet.

What about an adjustable proportioning valve????? I was talking to a friend and he put one on his car from Wilwood. He said that it is cheaper and does just as good. Have any experience with these on our cars??

If your car has the first design valve, the bolt-in would be simply. If not, then the Wilwood would be an option, though you might need to cut/flare lines. Sorry, I don't know much about the latter valve or its installation.
