Does anyone know of a good proportioning valve for an easy swap? I have a 91 rs that I converted to 4 wheel disc. used the rear-end out of an 83 trans am. replaced the calipers, rotors, lines, and harware. I've been running the set-up without the correct proportioning valve which means they are not working to potential and after 4ish months i have to swap the back brake pads to get rid of the brake light. I have the proportioning valve off the transam but some of the plastic connectors broke and i can't replace just those new. So does anyone know of a good aftermarket set-up that would allow me to even the pressure out to be suitable for 4 wheel disc?
they are usually adjustable from 57%to100%, you have to adjust it to you car, not a big deal, its usually done with a turn knob or lever. They are not bolt in deals, you have to bend up some new short lines and flare them. There are a few threads about dont this.
Or just pick up a stock valve for a disc/disc prop. You will have to use one made 85-92, the threads are different in the 82-84 cars
