Brakes rating

How would all the brake upgrades be listed in order of effectiveness? I see the size differences in the rotors, thicknesses, and also the calipers. If someone were to make a list rating them, how would it go? Obviously stock would be at the bottom.

Re: Brakes rating

This isn't something that can easily be compared unless everything is kept the same. Same brake pad compound, same car, same day, same weather, same exact testing area... get where I'm going? I mean an LS1 front brake upgrade with HT-10's or Blue 9012's or even just HP+ will probably do 60mph-0mph in a shorter distance then a C6 front brake setup with stock pads despite the massive size difference. Unless everything is kept the same or as close as it possibly can, there is no sure fire way to compare them other then "feelings". All you are probably going to get are people's feelings which obviously vary just as much as the people do. For example, my definition of hard cornering and braking is the point at which without a 5 point harness you can't stay in the seat meanwhile some members on here may think it is when you can feel your torso start to really lean over. Don't get me wrong, I would love to see the different impressions people have of all the setups available, I just don't think you will ever get a straight answer.

Re: Brakes rating

well bigger is pretty much better with all things consistent, which as 1meanz said is pretty much impossible......

with the same friction coefficient pad and same line pressure, you are looking at whatever has the largest and most uniform bite pattern.

in other words bigger is better imo if everything else remains the same which as stated really isn't possible.

i have been wrong before though so i'll wait to be corrected .

btw don't miss understand me meaning bigger rotor or bigger caliper or more pistons. i simply mean whichever has the most uniform bite pattern with, the biggest bite patch.

Re: Brakes rating

Between the weight of the car and brake size the ls1 or c5 brakes or the best upgrade. They are great for a street car might see some track time.If you want a race car c6 z06 or the big wilwoods and baer would be for a race car.
