c4 brake upgrade the bad and the ugly

about 2 years ago i did a C4 12inch brake upgrade

i also upgraded my rear brakes to pbr/disc about a year later

ever since i did the front upgrades the brakes always felt spongy bleed the brakes more times then i can count sometimes

i tried power bleeding gravity bleeding vacuum bleeding nothing worked

the car always still stopped faster then it did with the factory single pistons
but i always felt there was alot being left on the table ie spongy brake pedal

i also noticed that i could lock up the drums with the factory fronts
but the factory discs dont . i can tell the rears are working pads are wearing down and no rust on the rotors they just dont seem to grip like the drums

im really starting to hate reman parts
it seems every reman aluminum caliper gets heliocoiled atlest all the ones ive seen at my local parts places.
its like the only cores they recive is because they got stripped.

why is it also the remans come with very short banjo bolts compared to the factory ones factory are 1/4 inch longer so that the fully thread into the caliper ive also noticed aftermarket hoses are thicker then the factory ones the metal ends thus makeing the shorter aftermarket bolt even shorter going into the caliper

not only where these calipers not exactly cheap

" ive noticed they have gone down in price massively on most parts places websites but i think its because they nolonger can carry them.
autozone for example has the price of 44 bucks 30 dollar core now compared to 149 plus 80 core a few years ago ."

but when i tried to go in to order a pair they tell me they cant even order them there no longer carried

advance auto can get them but there a little more pricy and will take a week to get in. i ordered a set and noticed when they came in they where helicoiled so i told them i didnt want them as they will just strip again

i also noticed you cant get New calipers anymore for non hd c4
i can get new 1le and hd c4 but not normal pbr c4s

im thinking i should have just gone ls1 style because atlest they are always in stock and are cheaper

has anyone else had issues with c4 calipers stripping also what would caust c-4 calipers to warp out? i had noticed my pads where wearing at an upwards angle top being very worn bottom still haveing decent pad left

i looked at the caliper noticed it was warpped out infact both have warpped but the drivers side is far worse

is it possible that the normal c4 calipers for 12inch are not up to the task of camaro?
im wondering if this is why gm went with thicker rotors from a caprice and the vette hds for calipers for the 1le package.
