Original TPI 350 car, 700R-4, 3.27 posi, B&M shift kit in trans, 2500 stall, edelbrock headers, Flowmaster cat-back, BMR tubular lower control arms, pioneer stereo, B&M shifter still in the box, K&N filters, Eibach springs, KYB struts, yada yada... front tires are bald, rear tires are "Dorals" I think, and have 100 miles on them... Trans and posi were "supposedly" recently rebuilt by a former owner - It drove into the garage fine, did a couple of mean burnouts, but I can't provide receipts or prove that they actually were, so assume the worst and hope for the best... Original radio and 6x9's in the back seat if you want it back to stock...
Interior is clean, body is nice, no dents, a small amount of rust on the inside of the wheel lips - much better than most in Michigan - could easily be ready for paint in a weekend, even if you aren't good at bodywork...
Original 350 is missing the TPI setup, has a knock - it should be rebuildable, wasn't driven with the knock, except into the garage after a burnout, and one more a week later... ( it's not like I was going to hurt the motor, right???).
$1500 as it sits, $1200 if I keep the 350 and trans. If you want an engine to stuff in there I've still got the one I planned to put in - 350/sportsman heads/roller cam/rockers/7qt hamburger oil pan/fluidamper... should be pushing 400 ponies at the flywheel if you get the intake right... Make an offer on the engine - don't bother on the car - I really don't want to sell it, but the wife insisted that I post an ad... so here it is...
No checks, no Paypal, no I won't take payments or trades... - I can hold it for a short time with a deposit.
In response to a question I received, the wiring has not been cut - I was going to install a stealthram on this car, so I just pulled the intake off.
how many miles does the body have on it, do you still have all the tpi stuff for the motor and how is the paint on the car does the whole car need painted? Got any more pics you could send to chieft82@yahoo.com Thanks.
The body doesn't have any miles on it - it was from Canada originally, and it's got about 180,000 kilometers on it. That would work out to less than 120k miles.
The intake is gone. I wasn't going to use it, I sold most of it, and I'm working on selling the rest. it is not included at the listed price.
"Does it need Paint?" - How picky are you? This car is old enough to vote, it's pretty darn good for a car that old. My wife's 2002 really needs paint if you ask me - but I guess it depends on you more than me.
"Is this a good deal" - um yeah - I think so! Like I said, I'd rather not sell this car. I bought it because I liked it, not to re-sell. My price is firm, and I will sell the car at the price above, but don't ask me to jump through hoops.
so say i bring an 89 tpi intake and install it would the car start? and run
even if it has a knock ? atlest then i could buy it and drive it and let it "brake down" and let inshurance pay the tow home mah ha ha

- good luck with that - I fully expect that it would start and run, and I'd be glad to help you push it out onto the street if you just wanted to stuff a plate on it and scam the insurance company - $2k for 6 months insurance - they deserve it!
I've sent out replies to the emails I've gotten so far - these pics were taken by the former owner last year - I was more worried about getting it running than taking pics, so I don't have any recent ones, other than the one with the drain pan under it that is above - the hood is off currently, but it should only take a few minutes to take care of that...

Yea man if it falls through tell us i might be interested. I live in Michigan as well and ive been lookin for one of these cars. Is every thing like the pics??
I work for a major insurance co......Why do we deserve to get scammed?
Since we are scammed every day for ficticious claims, insurance rates are high. We also pay legitimate claims everyday for what we owe. If there were no fraudulent claims presented you would not believe how cheap everyone's insurance would be.
Insuranceguy - nothing personal, but with no tickets, and no accidents $4K per year for insurance on a car that I bought for $4k is nothing more than legalized extortion. I've never scammed an insurance company, I paid full pop to have this car flatbedded to me when I bought it - even though I HAVE a 100 mile towing AAA card. I just said I really don't care what the future buyer does to get it in his garage and out of mine.
In my book, stealing from a thief isn't as bad as ripping off EVERY SINGLE DRIVER IN MICHIGAN! False claims are a SMOKESCREEN put up by crooked insurance companies to divert attention away from their outrageous profiteering at the expense of every law-abiding, god-fearing citizen in Michigan. It is your company's JOB to weed out fraudulent claims - if your company is BAD at it, they have no RIGHT to take it out on their GOOD customers! Companies that do a bad job GO OUT OF BUSINESS, unless you have alot of lobbyists to buy a law forcing everyone in the state to be your customers. I wouldn't tell people you work for an insurance company, it's not a way to make friends, even though I'm sure you're an O.K. guy.
I did sell the car to John ( board member) in New York state...He's installing an LS1 in the car... should be a bit of a monster when he gets it done - might want to think twice before taking this car on should you pull up next to it at a stoplight... Thanks for the interest though...
