These parts are for sale. My father and I were in the process of building my 1987 Iroc Camaro into an 11 second car when he caught pneumonia and passed away. It has been more than a year since my car has been sitting in my grandparents garage and I have given up on doing this project alone. I want to sell the tranny, engine, and car separate. Please don't ask for parts off the car because I want to sell it as a fully functional rolling chassis. The car is located in Vero Beach, FL and I can set up a showing for serious inquiries.
Please make an offer.
TH-350 Transmission. No idea how many miles on it. Ran great in the car. Don't know what stall the converter is or what brand.
383 stroker built by HBR competition engines/ no idea on mileage (with paperwork)

TRW pistons (doesn't say if forged)
400 Rods reconditioned with ARP
stock flywheel
Crankshaft (doesn't say if forged)
Comp cam
Melling oil pump
Balanced assembly
Total cost for machine work and assembly was $2250
I already sold the intake and carb. The motor runs strong. I ran 13's at the track on street tires while breaking lose shifting into second and third. It was bad enough that I would have to pedal it to keep control. With slicks I honestly believe this thing would have run easily in the 12's. I would change the camshaft on it because I'm sure it has wear running .500 lift for a few years. Motor does not smoke and the rings should have more life on them. No knocking or bearing noise either.
I'd rather not ship it. Shipping something that large makes me nervous. I guess it is possible if the buyer sees the motor in person first. I would like $1,000 for the motor as is as pictured above. No intake or carb. I probably have close to $1,000 in work/parts into the heads alone, not to mention the machine work/parts into the motor.
If it gets to the point where you would like to ship i would be interested, What year was the motor built? Did it burn oil or lose compression in any cylinders? I happen to have the intake and carb that i like... so if shipping comes into play let me know.
Would you be able to gurantee a motor that doesnt knock??
You brought up a good point. Thanks for your interest but I decided I want to sell to someone local. This way I can guarantee the motor and if the person isn't happy I don't have to worry about return shipping.
But to answer your other question, it doesn't burn oil and it gets good compression. However, I was planning on changing the rings and bearings because they do have some miles on them and I was planning on going to a nastier cam and heads.
