83 z28 with brand new 383 stroker and built TH400 in WI
Got an 83 z28 with a 383 stroker and TH400 with a shift kit. Both motor and tranny have less than 1500 on rebuilds... I want $3500 for the car. Block was bored .030 over, decked, and clearanced for the steel 3.75" crank. KB flattop hypereutectic pistons (10.9:1 with 64 cc heads). Eagle SIR I-beams. Clevite 77 main and rod bearings. Plasma-moly rings. Running Hooker longtubes with no exhaust at the moment. Needs a good set of aluminum heads I think because I'm still running the stock 75cc LT1 iron heads with only 1.94/1.5 valves for the time being, if the car doesn't get sold before winter I'll probably put a set of aluminum Dart Pro1 heads on it. Weiand dual plane intake with edlebrock 750 electric choke. The cam is a Crane powermax hydrualic 234*/244* and .488/.510 lift. Rear-end is a 3.73 limited-slip with a custom driveshaft, crossmember for the tranny, and torque arm bracket on the back of the tranny. Body is in pretty good shape, only a small spot of rust on the drivers wheel well, just surface rust. Paint is white and is a 7 outta 10 at worst with no dings or dents at all. A few gauges mounted with a 5" 160 mph speedo on the dash. Needs a new drivers side door panel, took the other one off to fix the window and its in less than desirable condition so it needs a new one. No radio or A/C. Very quick though, probably mid 300's or so in hp and about 400 torque. Had the set up entered in a desktop dyno with the Brodix heads I was planning and it yielded 446hp and 502 ft/lb torque so it may be more or less than my guesstimate. Located in SW Wisconsin. I'd like to sell this before winter really hits so I don't have to worry about storage of this and my Eclipse both. Took the car out this weekend to play with my friends 99 LT1.. It only has an exhaust and has been chipped but I was able to walk all over him pretty easily when we ran em... Motor runs real strong and extremely fresh, just broken in.
Hey this is pretty awesome but I'd like to know more about what you've done so far with heads. I live between milwaukee and madison so let me know it your still sellin.

Sorry, but there was not an LT1 available in 1999. The LT1 was available up until 97, and then the LS1 came into play. So either the car is older than you think, or it has alot more power than you think.
Sorry for no response, had no idea the post was still active at all. I stopped checking it after no responses for a few weeks. The car is still for sale. Have a few friends interested in the car but they can't do anything until they get their taxes back so whoever gives me cash first can have it. I will take $3000 firm. Sorry not interested in any trades as I'm looking to get out of the thirdgen scene, atleast for awhile. Really hate to sell the car but I never drive it as my taste has changed to my turbo eclipse that takes all of my time and money. I bought the car for $3000 when I was 16 and I have since done all of the motor and tranny work. As for the heads, they are by no means impressive. Very mild work was done all before I bought them. I bought them used because the heads that were on the car when it was a 350 cracked and were junked. They were just a temporary replacement until I got money to throw some highly ported aluminum heads on it as I was hoping for 500+ hp. As I have always been told, the heads are where your power comes from and thats the only part of my motor that wasn't completed. Any decent aluminum heads will put this car will into the 400's in hp with ease. Took the car out of storage the other day just to take it for a cruise for about 30 miles to town and back just to fire the motor up for a bit.
If i can sell my 84 z28 i will probably buy your car its been tough to find anyone to buy it being winter and all but if i can i will let you know. Can i get some pics and a video clip of it running if you have one to njm12333@yahoo.com thanks and i will let you know if something develops unless you know some one who wants an 84 z28.
I can try to take a few pics hopefully this weekend. If it will warm up for a few days so the roads will clear enough for me to get it out again. I have a couple little clips but they are on a VHS so if I can get a way to get them on here they'd be perfect. Otherwise I will see what I can do.
Well I still don't have pictures, the 16" of snow we got over the weekend has put a little delay on that. Car is still for sale. Couple calls on it but nobody has got back to me yet.
