Car: 1988 IROC-Z
Engine: 355ci SBC, Holley carb
Transmission: 5 speed manual
Axle/Gears: 4th gen Z28
FS: MI: '88 IROC w/355sbc carb motor & pics

NEW PRICE: $4500.00 OBO
Alright, finally made it down to work on the car and take some pics. She needs a good wash, but she's all there.
It was a 5.0 TPI originally and all the wiring for that motor is still there. Electrical need to be hooked up. Fuel needs to be hooked up and i already have the Mallory pressure regulator. Temp and oil pressure guages come with it in a pillar pod and need to be installed. Motor has March underdrive pulleys on it, heads ported & polished, bored .30 over, Holley 600 cfm carb, Summit headers, and was estimated at around 375hp by the builder. I do have a K&N filter for it, but it doesn't fit on there with this hood. Another setup i was going to run is to use the stock "Y" and tunnel the air into the carb with a Fiero intake assembly...both of which i already have. Kevlar clutch and subframe connectors are installed.
The car is quite a ways from me and i don't feel like i'll be able to finish her off any time soon. If anyone's interested, i'm looking for $4500obo. I also have the stock 305 motor if anyone want that to go along with the rest of the car.
Email me with any questions: jtyrrell@faac.com

I do have a lot more pics if anyone needs more.

Alright, offers anyone? This car has the potential to be a really fun, fast IROC in the right hands. Unfortunately, my hands are currently 2 hours+ away from the car.

The car is down in Sturgis, MI right now. Just about 20 minutes west of Coldwater. I'm living in Farmington Hills and this is where the biggest problem is with the project. All the parts are there, i just can't get to it.

Re: FS: MI: '88 IROC w/355sbc carb motor & pics

I am interested because I am local and need something soon. It does seem like a lot of money for what it is. Do you have any proof of the work done to it and have the casting numbers matched to the receipts? I also would like some more pictures and information on it as well. My number is 231-690-2232 Jon........thank you.

Re: FS: MI: '88 IROC w/355sbc carb motor & pics

I am willing to work on the price of the setup, hence the "obo". I do have receipts for all the aftermarket items i purchased, clutch, subframe connectors, etc. The motor i had built when i was in high school and the "build sheet" came back to me in the form of a gridded note pad...i'll find that for the build specs on the motor. I do know the guy carries an excellent rep for motors b/c when it was in my Nova it ran like a dream. He also builds motors for a high school automotive consortium teacher who has very high standards for work. Motor has a nice cam in it, a little lumpy to let you know something's under the hood. I couldn't get the trans set up in the Nova so i sold the shell and kept the motor, where i had most of my money.
All the pics i have of the car are here:
http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2607036
I'll give you a call later today, around lunch, to touch base with you.

Re: FS: MI: '88 IROC w/355sbc carb motor & pics

No problem. I can do $1800 for just the roller. Body is straight. There is one small spot on the corner of the rear bumper where it looks like it was backed into something. Pushed the plastic and spidered the paint. Little bit of surface rust on the front inside corner of the t-tops where the water puddles. The clear coat is chipping on the A-pillars. T-tops are in great shape and even the bag looks good.
Overall, it looks really good for an almost 20 year old ride.

I'm having a hard enough time selling the car, let alone stripping the interior out of it. If i had time for that, i would spend it trying to figure out the wiring. Sorry, gonna keep it all in one piece.
