1988 Procharged T5 IROC hardtop - $4000 No Longer Available
I purchased this car in January with the intentions on putting it back together and driving it this summer. I've since realized I just don't have the time or motivation to do so anymore so I'm looking to move it along to someone with both. I have copied the ad(on my local forum) where I originally purchased the car.
Quote:
Specs:
1988 IROC (car makes about 390 hp and 420 lb ft to the rear wheels, dynoed at Crazy Horse Racing about 3 years ago, no changes made to the car since then)
305 TPI, stock internals (153,000 miles or so), T-5, 9 bolt rear (3.45 gears)
Centerforce clutch
Hurst shifter
ATI Procharger P600 intercooled, 13 lbs (installed by LaRocca's, near Etown)
Edelbrock headers
Edelbrock Runners
Edelbrock Lower Intake
Edelbrock 52mm TB
ported stock plenum
SLP loudmouth catback (dual/dual tips)
2" lowering springs (P-S-T)
Hotchkis STB
Hotchkis LCA
Hotchkis PHR
Southside Machine subframes
17" ROH wheels (ZR-6)
new front brake calipers
new front rotors (stock replacement)/Hawkes brake pads
new steel braided brake lines
Cervini Ram Air hood (Stormin' Normin' style)
light grey leather seats from a 98 Trans Am (front and back)
new carpet
High Rise spoiler
PIAA yellow ion fog lights
The interior is all apart right now, as I was planning on putting a sheet metal dash and autometer guages in.
In addition to the way I bought the car I also purchased brand new
-(2)285/40zr17 BFG KDW
-(2)255/45zr17 BFG KDW (both from tirerack still havent been mounted, can have them mounted/balanced depending on what I get for the car)
-California Car Cover "Stormweave" custom-fit car cover
The car does not run as there is a problem with the fuel pump wiring(i believe it's something simple under the hood, and I may be able to fix it tomorrow).
Car spent most of it's life garaged so the paint is in excellent condition as are the wheels. I'd like $4000 for everything. I also have out of a 95z28 a t56, bellhousing, slp flywheel, and slp clutch available for an additional $1000.
EDIT: meet my asking price and i'll throw in a BMR adjustable torque arm

oh man that is to bad about the interior, a sheet metal dash woulda totaly ruined such a nice car.
The plan for the sheetmetal dash was never carried out...right now the car is just stripped(interior-wise) but i have every single piece that was removed. It can still be put back together!
That thing is B-E-A-utiful. That brings a tear to my eye just wanting it. I would ride on a bucket all the way home just to have it.
I know everyone says it but in this case it's totally true that the pictures don't do the car justice...those two pics prompted me to go look at the car and when I saw it in person my jaw just dropped because it was such a good looking car. I just don't have the time to put it back together anymore.
Keep in mind you could buy this car, part it out down to a rolling chassis, sell everything and make alot of money
$4000 sounds real god. How soon do you think you could get it running?
I honostly don't want to bother with getting it running(hence the cheap price). I don't have the time or patience to work on stuff anymore, but if I did I could get it running and put the interior back together and raise the asking price to 6500(and probably get it). My friend offered me his cbr600 for it so I may go that route if it doesn't sell outright as is
----------
If you meet my asking price I'll throw in a BMR adjustable torque arm.

hey guys heres some pics of the car after I got it back together. I did away with the 91-92 z28 rear wing and blacked out tail lights. I used the black interior out of my parts car 88 Iroc instead of the grey interior that came with it. I did use the trans am seats though except for the part of the back seat that was never sent to me like I was told would be sent.

I REWIRED THE IN LINE FUEL PUMP AND REPLACED THE CHEAP HOSE THAT WAS ON THE FUEL FILTER WITH A STEEL LINE, REPLACED THE IGNITION MODULE, AND IN TANK FUEL PUMP THEN THE CAR STARTED.
I may be interested. Could you post some current pictures or email to Mikeb90@aol.com, and how much are you looking for it. I have a 1992 GMC Typhoon with 92,xxx miles that i am looking to sell/trade if anyone has interest in them.
