She is very nice and clean and a twin to my '83 Z28 on the exterior(code 59 beige). But has she been repainted or were the lower stripes removed? And I agree a better idea of price will help potential .

Thanks for the advise guys, the car passes smog easily, and i guess 7,500 would be right round what im looking for.....
so, heres the story... the car was purchased by a lady who lived in my neighborhood new in 1983, the car was meticulusly cared for and always parked in the carpeted garage. she just recently passed away and her son was going to sell it i was the first to know it was for sale via mail man, didnt want to go to trouble to advertise it for sale so i got it for a steal. i have only put a few miles on her, a few like maybe 3. it just sits pretty in my garage. but i want my garage back, lol.
and when i say the cleanest and most original 1983 Z in the country, i say it with confidence, show me one that is cleaner.....
There's another member,2BlackZ28s81&83,that has a lower mileage more original.here's the link to his and a few other member F-Bodys with low mileage http://www.thirdgen.org/techboard/hi...t-mileage.html
And I'll ask again was she repainted or were the lower stripes removed?

just because it has lower mileage doesnt necessarily mean its cleaner or in more original condition. though it probably is...lol, i guess this ones not the cleanest 1983 Z in the country, but its nice.
Oh I agree she does look very nice and very original.I asked about the paint because of the missing stripes.I'm sorry if I come off sounding like a smart butt. It's just that's a big statement but it does draw attention to your ad.Beige is an uncommon color for Camaros as it was only available 2 years('83-'84).People call mine white until they see her closer. And good luck with your sale.

So that color is beige, not white... sort of a cream color, I guess, hence the gold lower body, even though the interior is grey(at least, it looks grey in the pix)?
Also, you say it's an HO, but where are all the "5.0 Liter HO" decals? Were they removed at the same time as the stripes?
Removing the stripes I can understand. I did that, too, when I had my '83 HO Z28. But removing those HO decals is another thing. You sure it's really an HO(L69) and not an LG4? Does the VIN show a 7 for its engine code?
Edit: and about your "dual exhaust" statement, I suspect you mean it has dual tailpipes. But if you mean there are two mufflers back there, then that's also an indication that the engine is a standard LG4(VIN code H), not an HO(VIN code 7 in 1983). The HO engine came with one larger muffler(with dual tailpipes), like the later models got.
How about posting an engine pic. Just covering the bases.

Your missing the deacls on the bumper and GFX--and your tach redlines at 5000rpm--too low for an L69.
And no 3rd gen had factory dual exhaust. Your muffler has 2 tail pipes---that does not equal dual exhaust.
Dual exhaust has 2 pipes for each bank of clyinders--running from the exhaust manifolds back the whole length of the car.
so i take it you dont wanna buy my car....lol....
i dont think anyone reading this needs a dual exhaust explanation... i just thought it sounded better than dual tip exhaust, and i know this car is not an L69... i'll do the vin decode again, i think it was an LG4, some of wich came with the H.O. motor...not sure if mine is an H.O.
The N10 dual muffler exhaust was also optional on the LU5(Mine has it).The CFI 305(eight VIN digit S)shared exhaust with the LG4 305(eighth VIN digit H).
If she orginally came with an LG4 then it's not a HO 305.
And LAFireboyd you could get the charcoal interior(code 17C for custom cloth)with the beige(code 59)exterior.It does look different and I must compliment on how clean the interior looks.

It isn't possible for some of the LG4s to have come with the HO motor because the code LG4 is for the motor, itself--the standard motor. So if LG4(H in the VIN) is your motor code, then you don't have an HO. The L69 is the HO motor. You'd either have one or the other, there's no overlap.
So it sounds like your car has the standard motor and is not an HO car. So you should drop the HO from your ad if that's the case.
But no one's knocking the car. It's definitely very, very nice. We're just helping you sort out what you have there. It's important for everyone, you and any potential buyers, to be aware of what you're selling.
