1989 IROC maryland; T-56, ls1 rear end NOT FOR SALE

Hello everyone, I hate to sell this car but I'm moving to Germany and decided it is to much trouble to take it with me. I've only had this car for a short time but I've put a lot of work and money into it to get it the way I want.

It is a 1989 Iroc-Z28 white on black T-top car.

drivetrain:
original 350 L98 with rebuilt heads 45k doesn't smoke at all.
T-56 out of a 95 Z-28
rear end from a 2000 camaro with 4.11's in it.
Rebuilt heads 40k ago, the alternator, radiator, waterpump all have less than 30-40k on them, brand new distributor, cap, rotor, wires, plugs, all injectors sent away to be cleaned and tested, two injectors replaced, new egr vavle, intake and runners all taken off and cleaned/checked thoroughly when replacing the egr.
spohn t56 crossmember, brand new clutch with less than 2k. Full exhaust, headers, high flow cat, flowmaster cat back exhaust, sounds awesome.

interior: black
pwr drivers seat, pwr mirrors, pwr trunk release, pwr windows, overhead console w/flashlight, rear cargo cover, covans classic gauge cluster, black t-top sun shades.
The interior is absolutely perfect just had the drivers seat recovered, door pulls were seperating so those were replaced, sun visors were very loose so they were replaced. 5-speed shifter plate with 6 speed diagram. recovered the headliner at which point I installed the overhead console. Just installed the rear cargo cover. I installed a Covans Classic gauge cluster since I didn't want to chage the tailshaft housing and just put in an electric speedometer.

Exterior: white
exterior is the only thing that is wrong with the car: body has some surface rust around wheel wells, undercariage has no rust, couple minor dents/paint chipped on passenger side due to original owner glancing gaurd rail, not major body damage, ttops have alittle leak, not bad at all, a couple drips here and there. Tires are 255/60ZR16 bf goodrich gforce sports with less than 2k on them, rims are not bent, in good shape for age. 4 wheel disc brakes, front are new with less than 7k on, new front wheel bearings plus many suspension parts replaced over the past year, new kyb gr2's shocks and struts. The body damage is the only thing left to make this car perfect.

basic info:
When I bought the car it had a PA inspection but I never had to get it inspected because I am in the military and have it registered in Texas. The reverse lights don't come on, the T-56 Vss is run through a SGI box to the ECM and to the speedometer, I never ran it to the cruise control so that doesn't work. I put in a ministarter from procomp but cheaped out on it through ebay and it is starting to go but I'll replace that this week with a quality one. The throw out bearing makes a knowcking sound when the trans is in nuetral and the clutch is released, but doesn't effect the shifting at all. I have the title in hand. That is all I can think of right now, but I'm sure I'll remember more later, any questions you can pm me or post here I'm on here pretty regularly.

Price is $5500 obo, not interested in trades. I am in Aberdeen, MD and if anyone wants to see it pm me and we will set something up, thanks, Kenny.

Lots of hard work and money put into this car since mcgarnicle has owned it.

The car runs good and is definitely worth taking a look at. TTT

Thanks Scott.

I just re-covered the sun shades and here is a pic of the roof line.

A few things I didn't mention before is the car has rear defroster, and lighted mirror, and power locks that work flawlessly

What kind of rpm's does that turn at 70mph in 6th gear with those 411's? What is the rock bottom price you would take for it?

It's at about 1800 rpm at 70mph. I regularly do 80 on the highway and get around 22mpg highway miles. Feel free to post or pm me an offer.

Re: 1989 IROC maryland; T-56, ls1 rear end

I am very interested in this car because it is basicaly what I was planing on building...I have $4000 right now but I will not insult you and try to get it for that price because I know it would be a low ball offer...how ever if you still have it in say a month from now I might be willing to give you $5000 for it, I would have to mapquest ya and take a drive to where you are at because I would realy want to inspect everything in person. But on that same note MD is along way from Mich but it is drivable I just pack up the family in the mini van and get some dvd's and go for a road trip...lol! Mmmmmmmmmmmm???????????????? THINKING!!!!!!

What city and zipcode do you live in so I can see how far it would be?

Hello I'm in Aberdeen, Md 21005. I won't be here, but the car might still be, if I don't sell it before I leave I'll probably give power of attorney to a friend of mine here to sell for me.

Not that this does you much good now, but if you'd had this for sale last year, I so would have bought it. I'm right in Bel Air.

Bump for a nice car.

Re: 1989 IROC maryland; T-56, ls1 rear end

Hello everyone, well after a few months of looking I have found a shipping company that has reasonable prices on internatoinal rates. So after convincing my wife that we need an IROC over there I've been given the green light to keep it, so it is no longer for sale, sorry to all that were interested, Kenny.

off topic but do you have any clearnance problems with the iroc rims and the 4th gen rear cause I heard they would rub the quarters

Re: 1989 IROC maryland; T-56, ls1 rear end

It does have some clearence problems if I have a load in the back, like when I went and picked up some seats to use the fabric on mine when I would hit a divit in the road it would rub, but normal everyday driving isn't a problem. I think I'll either get some stronger stock hight springs or get those air shock assists from summit.
