I'm testing the waters here a little, but with a new house and family, I'm tight on cash, and the Camaro is on the list of things that may need to go. Its a nice car, very clean outside and in. Only rust is on the drivers side A pillar, and leading edge of the drivers side door. Interior is 4th gen leather, power drivers seat. Pioneer CD/Casette radio. Heat works, AC has been removed, still have all parts. 4 point harness on drivers side.
Under the hood is a crate 305, 20k miles since it's been purchased. Summit K1102 cam, ZZ3 intake, Edelbrock 600cfm carb, SLP headers (air deleted) and y-pipe, 3 inch exhaust, dual tips, vacuum advance Summit distributor. 700R4 trans, 10k miles since rebuilt w/ SLP shift kit and 2500rpm stall converter. Optima red top battery. 10k miles on Richmond 3.73 rear end with posi. Suspension is Tokico 5way adjustable Illuminas w/ lowering springs, Global West Swaybar, panhard bar, wonderbar, poly busing, Metco LCA's, fast-ratio steering box. ROH 16" wheels w/ BFG KDW's all around.
Car needs nothing to drive, it defintley has a new rag joint in its near future, there is some steering slop at the joint. It has a slight oil leak under heavy load. Temperature gauge isn't currently functioning, electric fans do turn on as they should. The car was originally a CC-qjet and CC-distributor setup, the wiring harness was a hack job, so it was removed for vacuum advance ignition and standard carb. I have not rigged a torque converter lockup, you're over stall speed at 70mph, so there isn't a tremendous RPM difference.
Its a nice quick car, about 9.6 seconds in the 1/8th, sounds good, and handles like its on rails. Extremly solid, the underside is very clean. I may entertain trades, otherwise, make offer. See my VBgarage for adt'l pictures.
I forgot to add in my description, it has a 145mph Z-28 dash cluster, the speedo has been calibrated for the 3.73 rear-end. All the gauges, work, I have a funky temperature sensor, so it will spike the gauge some times. Dash pad is all good, no cracks.
Price, I'd like to get $4000, but thats not firm. I would also entertain trades, I would specifically like to find an cheaper, higher miles, LS1 car to use for a daily driver, but may be open to other idea's.
Really, this is a nice clear car with a solid driveline, and great suspension. Its got a strong 305, but a nice 350 or stroker would really make this a sweet car.
hey i was just lookin at the site and i took a look at your pictures of the car and i saw a picture of your car with race numbers and i saw cones just wondering do you auto x it? if so im looking at your upgrades right now i might be interested let me know?

The car is esentially designed for auto cross, just about every piece of suspension has been upgraded for increased handling. Its very light for a third gen also, so it is very nimble.

That was a few years ago, but it was good enough to get me second place for the season in ESP locally... On street tires not r-compounds.
Hopefully, the car will go to a good home...
Brian is right, it is very competitive. I actually didn't have it to an event last year, only made it to the annual driving school I attend. But the informal competition we had at the end of the day showed it would be a very strong ESP car indeed. My instructor campaigns a 04 Z06, and he felt the handling was about on par with his setup, but without as much rubber.
Quick question what do you top out at with the 3.73's? Thanks and good luck with your sale, hate to see people giving up their third gen.
3.73's in 4th gear with a 700R4 are good for a theoretical top speed of 175mph at 6000rpm. I doubt the car has enough power for that, I've had it to 120mph, that was enough.
