Hey Guys,
I've got an 86 IROC that I aquired a few years ago, I was planning on building a drag car out of it, but i got caught up in college and everything. I'm graduating this spring, and theres just no time. It's got a carbureted motor, a 1978 350 with a mechanical quadrajet. I looked up the vin and it said it should be a 5.0 HO, which matches the emblem on the rear bumper. The tan interior fabric is rough, but the leather doorskins, and the black center console, dash and dashpad, are still nice.
Work I've done: Spent a long time doing bodywork, and the car was repainted to cure flaky clear-coat with PPG 2-part urethanes. I spent a lot of time to tape off the original IROC decals, which are in perfect condition. I changed the spark plugs, changed the oil, replaced the exhaust from the converter back, went over the carburetor (new float, needle, seat, gaskets, o-rings, etc)
It's got 1 good and 1 broken louver panel, they were not installed when I took the pictures.
I'm asking $3000 firm. You'll have a tough time finding a clean chassis like this one.
Valley Forge near chester. Body has 73k, the motor was installed in 95. I dont know how many miles were put on it before / after. I have put virtually no miles on the car - I bought it when I was in high school, i'm about to graduate college and it's pretty forseeable I'll never get to use the car.
Looks really nice, alittle too far though or I'd buy it. Seems like a really fair asking price too considering what it is. that old thing is becoming a classic and you probably won't find a solid body or a nice paint job like that for $3000.
Sorry, I dont have any, the car is 350 miles away from me at my dads house. If you read the original post though, its rough. I'm going to be frank - if you want this car to be really be nice on the inside, you will want to replace the seats, carpet, and interior plastic panels. If anybody wants to drag race, we can work out installing a roll bar and racing seat and ripping out the carpet and stuff
