Just to play devils advocate, my buddies 2500 Truck does have a LS series engine in it. His truck is either a 02' or 03' and is a 396 I believe. I was shocked to see the composite LS style intake on it.

There is no 396 motor. the LS series engine in trucks are iron blocks w/ alum. heads and not a LS1/LS6 styles intake, but one that is made of the phenolic plastic material though like the LS1/LS6 intakes. The only LS engine the trcuks have available are the 4.8, 5.3 and 6.0L. The 4.8 i think they rated that at 265hp, the 5.3 was 295hp and the 6.0 was 345hp. now that they moved up to the LS2s, the SS truck/blazer is rated at 395hp. of course the 2500 is also available with the 6.6L turbo diesel.
