Feeler: 1992 Z28 Convertible

Just seeing what kind of interest is out there. I've been thinking about selling my 1992 Z28 convertible. I've always wanted one, and finally got one and now would like to move onto my next car on the list.

1992 Z28 Convertible
Red/ Grey cloth/ Black top
305 tpi w/auto tranny 48,000 miles
has power drivers seat, mirrors, door locks, windows
sold the stock wheels, and put 18" chrome iroc wheels on.
Lowered with sportline springs.
Has a wonderbar from an iroc.
tail light blackouts.

Even with the low miles, the car sat for a long time without care. the sun dmaged the paint mostly on the back 1/2 of the car. Its got some scrapes and dings here and there, needs a paint job to make it complete. I would like to replace the carpet also, it's nowhere near as clean as the rest of the car.

has orig top, and somewhat cloudy rear window.
pass window motor not working.
needs a little work but will be well worth every penny invested. i use it everyday and would like to sell it to some1 who will restore it.

would need in the ballpark of $7,000 just putting that out there. its not a set price yet. i've got stuff i can take out if need be ( my cd player isnt included) has new front speakers that are included.

Re: Feeler: 1992 Z28 Convertible

Hopefully you don't take this the wrong way, and if you do, oh well. This is not the "How much is my car worth" section. This is the classified section for cars that are actually for sale. So you want an opinion of how much you can get right? So then it's not actually for sale right? For other people that may be interested, these are quotes from an email from the pole taker:

"that would put the cost of the car closer to $6,000. I wont go any lower than that, if i do end up selling." ("If I do end up selling")
Are you selling it or not?

"like the post says, its just a feeler. once summer rolls around i may just have it painted and enjoy having a rare head turner."
Not for sale until summer?

Thanks for responding to my email but pretty much a waste of time. If it's not for sale it shouldn't be in the "Camaro's for sale" section.

Re: Feeler: 1992 Z28 Convertible

if i was offered $7,000 today i would sell it. if some1 came with $6,000 and didnt want the wheels, i would sell it.

I'm not wasting my time with people who are going to offer me $4,000 or so. I'm not listing it to waste my time along with everyone elses. If i see that their are people actually interested and not playing around, then i would need to start looking for a replacement car.

if by chance i still have the car come summer and i paint it, then most likely i'll end up keeping it. the more money i invest, the better the chance that ill keep it.

so

$7,000 with the wheels
$6,000 without.

over 16 years old with 48k miles. woth every penny as it sits.

Re: Feeler: 1992 Z28 Convertible

If it were sold without the 18's which wheels would it come with? (I see that you already sold the stock ones)

Also just for clarification are you saying that you want to replace the carpet before you sell the car? So if someone bought it for $6,000 without the 18's it would have new carpet or no?

I left my uncle a voice mail to tell him about this I'm just waiting to hear back from him. I've been looking for a ttop or convertible Z28 for him for a while now he hasn't jumped on one yet.

Re: Feeler: 1992 Z28 Convertible

i wouldnt have any other wheels for it, some1 would need to bring a set, or just pay for the iroc wheels on it. they have less than 1000 miles on them.

I want to get a 4th gen WS6, thats the only reason i would let this one go. and the fact that at the current time, my girlfriend wont let me have it repainted, not in the budget. I dont plan on replacing the carpet if some1's going to buy it. was going to replace it for myself while i still have the car.

I dropped off the pictures at my uncle's house with all the info you gave on the car and I haven't heard from him yet. If I haven't heard from him by this weekend I''ll give him a call and see what his thoughts are on it.

Re: Feeler: 1992 Z28 Convertible

i havent been getting the emails about people posting for some time now. sorry. $5,000 wouldnt do it anyways, sorry. It's got no milage discrepency's. Just did a carfax on it last night. I've got true milage brand on my GA title. Why would it not be actual??? I know in some places after 10 years they just exempt miles.

But to put an end to this topic. I wont be selling the car. some jackass decided to put a little dent in my 1/4 and scuff the door a bit( peeling clearcoat side) so im going to be sending it to the shop to get a complete paint job. another $4,000 im investing into the car. and im sure it wont stop there. maybe when im all done i think about selling it again. but for now, i just want to get the car taken care of, and back to showroom condition.

I get comments on the car all the time. I know what kind of money Verts will bring if they are well kept, and in good condition. someone could have had a good deal on this one, but things happen when you least expect it, may just be a sign not to sell it. It's always been my dream car.

Thanks
