1985 Camaro with 3.4L v6 swap....$650 or BO !!!SOLD!!!

Up for sale is my 1985 Camaro. The color is factory Copper with Copper interior. Swapped in a 1995 3.4L motor about 2 years ago. No bugs, no problems with the motor swap. Have about 10,000 miles on it after the swap. Passed NJ state inspection without a probelm. Car has 261,000 mile on it in total.

There are good things and bad things about the car. First the good:

motor runs strong. Is from a 1995 camaro. Had 95,000 miles on it when I got the motor. When swapping it in, I changed the timing chain, gaskets and water pump. Everything else was fine. Left the 3.4L manifolds in place.

Has a stereo system in it. Kenwood receiver with Sony digital EQ and 10 disc changer. Two precision Sedona amps (100x2 and 30x4). Amps power Infinity 6x9s in sail panels, Sony 4x6 splates in dash and 2 JBL 12" subs in a plate in the hatch.

Tires have about 50% life left (BF Goodrich Radial TAs)

Over the past 2 years, the following have been replaced: rear wheel brake cylinders, new muffler/intermediate pipe, new front brake pads, new cat converter, new y-pipe/02 sensor, new plugs & wires.

The real good parts: "XH" quick ratio steering box from 92 formula, 34mm/23mm sway bars from WS6 car, panhard rod and lower control arms are from 2002 Z-28. Car has grid style IROC tail lights.

Now the bad: Car has rust. Bottom of doors are pretty bad, some around wheel wells also. A/C will only hold charge for about 2 months. There is a slow leak in the system. Currently uncharged. Horn button broke off. Horn still works, but large button is missing.

This was my daily driver for many years. Up until very recently (got 1992 formula project on the road) this car would go 60 miles round trip every day.

Asking $650 or best offer.

New lower price. $550. I have more than that in new parts over the last year so. Just don't want to pay insurance on it anymore.

Re: 1985 Camaro with 3.4L v6 swap....$650 or BO

The original rear was removed due to whining gears at around 245k miles and the rear from another 85 v6 camaro was put in with only 110k miles on it. Pinion seal changed and fluid obviously replaced with new.

Fan is electric (as it came from the factory) and works 100% with the original wiring in the car. No rigging, no switches. Car runs at same temp as it did with the 2.8L motor as meaured with a Snap-On scanner in the ALDL port.

Re: 1985 Camaro with 3.4L v6 swap....$650 or BO

Transmission shifts fine. The trans pan has a drain plug on it so every other other oil change, I drain and refill about 4 quarts. Its cheap insurance.

Here is a pic of the interior. I can take some more pics over the weekend of the interior and of the rust. The rust is in bottom of the doors, underside of the hood and around the rear wheel wells.

Re: 1985 Camaro with 3.4L v6 swap....$650 or BO

The bottom of the driver door has started to penetrateat the at the bottom. The passenger door is in better shape. I don't get wet when it rains, but there isn't much left to the outer door skin. The wheel wells are mostly surface and bubbling of the paint. Could probably be saved.

Re: 1985 Camaro with 3.4L v6 swap....$650 or BO

For all of those who have PMed me recently...yes the car is still available. Several have expressed interest, but no one has traded cash for title.

I am interested in trades. I am looking for the following:

QA-1 rear adjustable shocks
Chromoly adjustable panhard rod with spherical rod ends
Chromoly adjustable lower control arms with spherical rod ends
S-10 manual steering box
CSR electric water pump
Spohn rear drag bar

Price changed to $350 or best offer. I really do not want to donate this car to charity because there are too many good parts on it.

My registration and insurance run out in the beginning of February (need to get rid of car before then as it is on the street)
