The best laid plans I guess. I have recently ruptured a disc. in my back and will likely be getting surgery if it doesn't get better, I am shortly going to be moving, and buying a house.....all of these things have brought me to the conclusion that it is time to sell my project camaro.
The car has 130k+ miles on the body, the 305TBI and 700R4 were pulled in favor of an LT1 / T56 combo that I had planned on putting into the car. Both the engine and the trans came from a 96 camaro with 55k on the clock at the time of removal. Both are in good shape and complete (harness, clutch slave, flywheel, all accessories, etc. included).
The Car is a 91 Convertible Grey with a new black top with rear glass (not plastic)
The car is completely rust free, the ONLY rust on the car that I have seen (and I have been all through this car) is on a dent the size of a quarter on the pass. side door, its on the leading edge of the door.
The car was resprayed at one point, it wasn't the best of jobs, the front plastic is the worst part, the rest of the car is a 5'~10' job.
Again, the engine and trans. are complete and in good shape.
No issues with the car that I know of with the exception of a noise coming from the front steering, I think it needs either new tie rods or a new center line.
Additional goodies:
5 spd. pedals from donor third gen.
2-1/4 turn steering gear box.
Monsoon radio from 2002 Z28
3.42 rear with posi from 2002 Z28 (disc. brakes included, this is a non-abs rear)
New battery
1LE 36mm hollow front sway bar
Original rear included, I can try and put either under the car, your choice.
TPI intank fuel pump (required. to install LT1)
5 spd. center console.
Black steering wheel from 2002 Z28 w. radio controls to work monsoon CD player.
Asking price is $4,500 OBO, this is a lot less than what I got into it (but does anyone ever make money selling cars?). All that you need now is a T56 cross member, the correct sway bar end links, an ECM reprogram to delete VATS & second O2 sensors, and a couple of days with both wiring harnesses. I am sure there is something I missed, pm me with any questions, I can send pics. to anyone that is interested. I am located just outside of Durham NC, but would be willing to deliver a reasonable distance for gas and trailer rental.
A couple more pics, PM if you are interested, willing to take pics. of anything, I just need a day or two. I can respond quicker to emails sent to shelby987@hotmail.com
Posted it on the local craigslist. I am willing to part this out to board members if I can arrange for all items to be sold....
See where this goes, and if you do decide to part it out in the end, know that I'd be interested in the entire body w/title, as the LT1 engine and tranny along with the other stuff I wouldn't need. Just the rolling body w/title. So again, see where this goes, and if you can sell everything at once, that would be awesome, but if it gets parted, lemme know....
Streetlethal seems legitimately interested in the car as a roller, if you are interested in any individual parts, please PM or email me. I would obviously prefer to sell the whole lot, so please if you are interested in an individual part, please be willing to wait a bit until I can make sure that I have buyers for all parts (or at least the big ones).
TTT, lots of interested parties in the parts. If you are serious, about a parts, or group of parts, let me know. Would prefer to sell whole, but willing to seperate if I can get honest, serious interest from enough people to sell all or at least the bulk of her.
BTTT I have been a bit distracted from the sale of this car with the details required in my current house hunt. It looks as if that is done, and I will be moving soon. I would rather not have to transport this when I move, it needs a new home, just not mine.
For you guys in the rust belts, you won't find a convertible this clean for this price, it's worth the drive or the cost of shipping.
