1987 IROC-Z, ttops, extremely clean, new paint, chrome 17" IROCs
I'm kind of testing the waters here, I found a car that both my wife and I really want to have. If I can sell this one I will pull the trigger on this other one we're looking at.
Basic run down:
1987 IROC-Z
ttops
305tpi/700R4
~116,xxx
originally bright red/black and gold iroc stripes
is now Ford color "Light Toreador Metallic"
tan interior, with tan leather WS6 seats (came from a 2001 car with low mileage, in GREAT shape, backs look like nobody ever sits in them)
comes with two sets of wheels, stock gold 16" IROC's and 17" chrome replicas
Factory Bose system, replaced the head unit with a Pioneer, but the Pioneer won't flip out to change discs, comes with the stock head unit though
Mods:
Pacesetter shorties/ypipe
3" Hooker aerochamber cat back, gutted cat (will pass visual safety inspection since the cat is technically still there)
replaced the 10 bolt with one from a 1991 L98 car with rear 1LE brakes, the driver side caliper needs to be replaced as it's not clamping
negatives:
-needs new front brake rotors and pads, I am replacing them before the sale though
-hood was replaced when we painted the car but the new hood had hail damage on it that we didn't see before we stripped the old paint off. The car comes with enough left over paint to spray another hood
-ypipe rattles against the floor board
-needs driver side rear brake caliper
-has a SES light that comes on randomly. I have had this car at a reputable shop that specializes in Fbodies probably 4 or 5 times (I can have the shop vouche for this), it kept saying that the MAF relay was faulty, I have replaced the relay twice, as well as a whole new mass air flow sensor, and it keeps coming back. It does not affect the driveability of the car, it runs great.
-dash pad has cracks in it (very common thing in 3rd gens)
I'd be asking $6,500 for it. It's a great car, in very good shape interior and exterior.
And because I know someone here is going to whip out the old "KBB value" crap on me, here is what NADA lists the car at (and they don't even let you select options, just if it's an IROC-Z or RS Camaro). Average retail : $4,600 High retail : $7,550 This car is above average, as anyone that has seen it in person can admit.
You got any interior pics, under the hood? When the car was painted, did you paint the door jams, under the hood, trunk area?
I can get some better interior and under hood pictures for you this afternoon. The car was painted in August of 2007, we painted the door and trunk jams, and a little under the hood. Here's some pictures to show how far down we stripped the car to ensure the paint job looked really good:
