Up for sale is a 1986 Camaro Sport Coupe. The car has an LG4, 700R-4 trans, and a 10-bolt open rear (gearing unknown), with 130k on the clock. This car has been a project of mine for the last two years. However, I have had less and less time to work on it, and the neighbors (I live in this ridiculous condominium development) have complained multiple times, and sent letters from a lawyer. Ugh.
In any event, this is a work-in-progress project car, and is a good opportunity for someone to get a good deal on some parts and or a whole car. At this point the car runs and drives just fine. I'll lay out the good and the bad:
GOOD:
- Car runs and drives fine (not legally, its not insured.)
- Hooker 2055 Headers and Y-Pipe
- MAC 3" Cat delete pipe
- Hooker 3" cat-back exhaust
- 2 1/2-inch cowl hood (steel) - has a couple small nicks
- American Racing wheels (Not sure on the brand but I believe them to be AR) 15x7
- Rebuilt Rochester E4ME carb
- Rebuilt top end (heads reworked, new valve stem seals, etc.)
- Bottom end is stock, functions fine.
- New Distributor, Dist. cap and rotor, plugs, 8mm wires.
- K&N 4-inch filter
- New windshield
- PO claims that the trans was recently rebuilt (10k miles). However, I don't really have a way to verify this so take it for what it's worth.
(I have about 2k in receipts for the car, but I didn't keep very good track - I've probably spent more...)
- I have an ABS headliner and visors for it that just need to be recovered.
BAD:
- Needs paint
- Needs an interior. I have the original tan plastics but they are not installed, and were pretty trashed. The console is fine, and it has black vinyl door panels and armrests that are in decent shape. No carpet.
- Will need new rear tires. However, I will throw in a set of firebird wheels that have good tires.
- Cooling fan doesn't come on, I think it's the relay. Will need some wiring cleanup as well.
- Rust on the drivers side floorpan. Other than that, no rust that I have seen on the car at all.
In any event, I'm asking $1000 for the car. I have a bunch of spare/extra parts that go with the car as well. Nothing really interesting or valuable (extra air dam, wiper motor, new ac blower motor, ARP header bolts, etc...) I can get a more definitive list if needed.
I think that $1000 is a pretty fair price considering that you couldn't buy the exhaust system for that much. I've only driven the car about 5 miles since I finished the engine/exhaust, so most of this stuff is basically new. If nobody wants the car, I'll part it out, but that kind of defeats the point of my selling the car because I have no time.
Thanks for looking and don't hesitate to PM me with any questions.
