FS: 1991 Camaro Z28 Convertible

1991 Camaro Z28 Convertible

$15,000 Canadian or $13,924 US at current exhange rate of .9283%
Located Ottawa, Canada

120, 000 kms or 73,000 miles - The car was driven annually between Florida and Canada but has resided in Canada for the last 10 years and been a 'Garage Queen' and used as a Sunday driver.

Never winter driven (it still has the original windshield washer fluid in the reservoir from new) This car was bought by my friend originally and I have known it since new. Well maintained and GM dealer serviced by family owned dealership. I cannot take all the credit - The car has been well taken care of by my friend (the original owner) and I have continued... The car has never been parked outside and always stored indoors. My friend even covered the car when he parked it when driving to school.

1991 Camaro Z28 convertible
305 TPI, 5 speed standard, red with black and grey leather interior
Fully loaded with every option available and everything works. AC, tilt steering, power mirrors, leather seats, power windows. power drivers seat, power door locks, power boot release for convertible top, sensor for headlights, etc...
Electric trunk release was added as it was not available as option for convertible.
Switches added to disable daytime running lights, and stereo system.
Alarm system with a switch installed for option of turning on LED lights that are installed in brake lights and front marker lights that flash when alarm is on. It is unique and IMO can deter people from approaching the car. Two alarm horns and car horns installed (LOUD)
Stereo system consists of an Alpine CD deck with Aux input, MP3, etc..., Alpine 11 band graphic EQ, Audio Control 3 way active cross over, (2) Alpine 200 watt amps each, and a PPI amp totally over 500 watts, Alpine 4" mids and tweeters in dash, Alpine 5 1/4" in doors, custom made side pods with matching vinyl installed in rear sear pillars with Alpine coaxial, (4) 10" subs in rear trunk. Battery isolator and (2) Yellow top Omni gel cell batteries. The sound system is phenomenal especially it being a convertible and was professionally installed by Holley Mongual in Toronto originally as he was one of the top ten installers in North America back then. Has won top place finishing in a few sound competitions back in its day. This system cost over $15,000 when installed.
Flow master exhaust, 3" from cat - back
17" Momo Quasar rims with Firestone tires (the chrome on the rims is peeling in some places) Have original 5 star rims and are in perfect condition.
Piggyback Hyper chip installed
Tinted windows
Coded key
All fluids are synthetic i.e. rear end, engine, transmission, etc...
All documentation, receipts, warranty work, and bills from day one. I also have an appraisal of the car.

New parts 2000 to present:
Complete (everything) new OEM rear end with synthetic fluid
New fuel injectors OEM
New radiator
Wires, cap rotor, spark plugs
Alternator
Two (2) Yellow top Optima AGM batteries. These are smart charged all year long when not driven.
Ceramic brake pads
The door lock was popped and was repainted as well as one rear quarter panel lower section where rock chips commonly occur. This was repainted by family owned GM dealership.
New hood and trunk shocks that are guaranteed for life.
Fuel system and tank purged
Brake system purged

New parts 2000 to 1991
New aftermarket clutch installed
Rear main seal changed at least 3 times because of sweating. The car does not leak any oil but there is some sweating occurring in some places.

The good:
The paint is a 9 to 9.5 out of 10 IMO No dents but this is still mostly the original paint on the car. People have commented that the car looks freshly painted.
The car is original or replaced with OEM parts with only a couple of minor parts that are not OEM i.e. wires, hood and trunk shocks...
The car has been well maintained since day one by the original owner (my friend) and myself. It has always been garaged and never left out in the sun (the previous owner use to cover it when parked during day). The fabric top is still tight as it is always released in the back when parked. The top does not leak at all and has been waterproofed and beads water when washed. It is not faded and the fabric does not flap when driving. The rear window is still clear and not yellowed at all and it still taught.
Door hinges are good
Engine compartment is clean enough to eat off of
Underside of car is rust free.
Body and frame are straight

The bad:
The steering wheel has a worn spot of leather.
The drivers seat has a spot on the side that the leather is worn.
There is minimal surface rust occurring on the inside bottom lip of the doors where the two parts of metal meet.
The Momo rims are starting to peel chrome.
The is one small nick in the trim of the top where it meets the boot and does not affect the top at all (1mm).
No room for spare tire in trunk because of subwoofers (still have it).
Passneger side plastic rocker panel is cracked.
