1983 z28 ,w/ swapped motor and tranny
hey. I just bought this car and cannot say how much I hate the idle at 65 mph, whoever did the engine swap didn't calculate the stock rear end gear ratio vs the three speed auto(350 turbo trans)...
To elaborate more, it idles at about 3500 while driving 65-70. and sucks the big one while passing..if ever passing....
I dont have the money or motivation to swap a rear end out..don't ask me why I bought it..still trying to figure that out....
The motor and tranny are in great shape though, The motor has about 5000miles on the rebuild and they both have some performance parts in them.
the motor has a edelbrock four barrel carb with a washable K&N filter, also a street dominator intake and an aftermarket camshaft.
.anything else internal is not known to me..It has some pretty nice spark plug wires and distributor too. nicest ones ive seen on any cars I've bought. It also has a very nice exhaust, flowmaster I am guessing as there was some stickers for it found in the car, either way I can tell they aren't stock headers, the exhaust is solid as well.
The interior is pretty clean, the dash has very little damage, just the corner of the driver side is crackled off. a few things are broke and a couple gauges don't work but nothing real expensive. the big bonus with this car is the seats and the floor, they are all super clean and work great. Its got an aftermarket steering wheel with a chevy emblem on the horn button...
The rims and tires aren't anything to write home about but they aren't horrible either...
The body is in really good shape, just very small trouble spots no major rust, needs a paint job on front bumper and hood has a small crack on the cowl.
It has one rust spot behind the driver window thats about 2 by 1 1/2 inches wide. and another spot on the door about an inch in diameter thats got rust underneath the paint. The driver mirror glass fell out and the whole mirror I believe will need replaced.
I have more photos, email me if your interested...Located in northern Montana and I would like 2500.00 but am open to offers.
