1984 Camaro Z-28 H.O. 5-speed For Sale
I am the second owner of an immaculate 1984 Z-28 H.O. It is a 5-speed T-Top car with 36,800 original miles and all numbers matching engine and transmission. It still wears it's original paint and decals as well as all original interior. Car runs and drives as it should with no known issues.
I acquired the car in 2009 from the original owner who ordered it special from Tichenor Chevrolet in Hartford, KY in February of 1984. It was built in March of 1984 in Van Nuys, California. It had 27,600 miles when I got it.
Options:
T-tops
5-speed manual transmission with 3.73 gears
L69 H.O. engine
Elongated upper console with map lights/flashlight
power windows
AM/FM cassette
140MPH Z28 speedometer
Custom cloth interior
Car comes with original window sticker and build sheet and nice fitted indoor car cover. This car was in multiple competitions at Camaro Nationals in the 1990's and won many awards scoring in mid to high 900's out of 1000 points.
Recently has won multiple awards at Camaro Superfest in Michigan as well as Carl Casper Custom Auto Show in Louisville, KY.
Here's what I have done to it since I've owned it:
New tires
Window tint
Red 1/8" vinyl pinstripe to rims
Hurst short throw shifter (still have original)
New center caps (still have originals)
Spohn tubular weld-in sub frame connectors
New stock muffler
Headliner recovered
A/C converted to R134
New mechanical fuel pump (still have original)
New electric radiator fan (still have original)
New Holley 4165 carburetor (Still have original Quadrajet and a replacement Quadrajet)
New HEI non-CC distributor (still have CC HEI distributor)
EGR delete plate (Still have original EGR valve)
LED bulbs installed in instrument cluster and interior lighting
iPod input installed in original radio
With all above listed mild mods, NOTHING was cut or changed that cannot be put back to 100% factory original with the exception of the sub frame connectors that were added for improved drivability.
I am wanting to sell because this car needs to be a show car --- I'm looking for a fun, family Sunday driver that can accommodate 5 people -- like a '55-'57 4-door Bel Air or similar.
Asking $12,500
Any questions, call or text 502-249-1019 My name is Jacob.

I see what you mean but I assure you this car has never been painted or had any body work done. It is 30 year old acrylic enamel so not as shiny as clear coat.

Re: 1984 Camaro Z-28 H.O. 5-speed For Sale
I have seen this car in person and have sat in it; this is one of the cleanest thirdgens in existence. The original paint is incredible, and the best part is the car is set up and ready to drive and enjoy. Have blast driving it to the show, collect a trophy, have a blast driving it home...
Whoever gets this car will be lucky. If it was available when I was looking in 2010, I would have broken my hardtop-only rule and driven away in this 84 Z.

Believe it or not this car is code 27 - Dark Blue Metallic
It does look lighter in the sunlight, but it IS code 27
Here's a pic from Carl Casper Auto Show this past February.
Still for sale! Now asking $12k or BEST offer

Still love the picture of your car with you and your wife now and your previous car just like it with your wife many years ago, taken in the same spot for both pics!
Love your car, easilly one of the legit cleanest early thirdgens I have ever seen and I am very picky, and the colors and options are perfect. A good friend of mine had the same car but in white growing up, we had so much fun with it.
Best of luck with the sale, I will spread the word for you.

Man I wish I had a 5 car garage! This car is stunning! I think I like it better than my IROC. I had an 82 LG4 Z28 in high school and a red 84 L69 about 15 years ago. For some reason the early 3rd gens just do something for me. I really like the console clock this one has and the blue interior. Such a rare sight to see one like this now. I hate to see you part with this car. You have kept it in such beautiful shape. I hope the new owner doesn't beat it up or drastically modify it.

That being said, let me know if more "space" becomes available for you. Lol. I'll make a good deal to someone who'll take good care of her!

Thanks Luis! I appreciate the thought. Never know...he might want the matching '84 Chevrolet to his newly acquired '84 Pontiac!

Be willing to trade for 1955-57 Bel Air 4 door driver OR 1958-60 Impala or Bel Air 4 door driver quality. Just throwing that out there. Lol
(Preferably V8 automatic but would also consider 6 cylinder too)

I'm being pretty picky on who I sell it to. I'm not in a real big hurry to sell it but can't own 2 other cars besides my daily driver (per the wife).

Thanks for the kind words and passing word along! Part of me hates to part with it. But I enjoy driving vehicles more than just looking at them and cruising with my family instead of by myself. Really wanting a '55-'60 Chevy as a cruiser more so than a showpiece right now....every time I drive my Z I spend twice as much time cleaning it than driving! Lol

Well, I DO have room in the shed. This car WOULD look great next to my 92 Z28. I really want a white car, however. What to do? What to do? Couldn't ask for a better example of an early HO car, either. Damn!

Just adding another pic:
Getting judged at Camaro Superfest 2013 in Ypsilanti, MI
Won first place in 1982-1992 Z/28 Street class AND won best stock engine overall.
This car has a nice track record at shows and has won some nice awards. Make it yours for 12k or best offer!

Re: 1984 Camaro Z-28 H.O. 5-speed For Sale
Drove to a cruise yesterday to advertise my car for sale....lots of lookers but no one wanting to even make an offer.
Surpassed the 37,000 mile mark...now sitting on 37,135. FYI.
She's running and driving perfectly. Only issue I've noticed is the heater control bulb is burnt out so I'll be replacing that in the near future. That's it folks!
Oldtimer, does it really have to be white? Lol just kidding.
Kymmee...is there still interest?
Make me a reasonable offer. Worst that can happen is I say no! Lol
ALL others: Drive to kentucky and test drive this car! You won't be disappointed!

Re: 1984 Camaro Z-28 H.O. 5-speed For Sale
Hard to believe this thing hasn't sold yet! I guess times are tough. I have been getting nothing but tire kickers looking at mine as well. I can't believe the things I have been offered in trade. One guy asked me if I would finance him, Half now and half in a year. I literally laughed out loud. Another guy called me twice. Told me he definitely wanted the car and that he would be by the next day to get it. Then never showed up after I waited at home all day. Never answered his phone or called me back. I hate flakes! I have always taken pride in being a man of my word. I guess most people don't care about that anymore.

Re: 1984 Camaro Z-28 H.O. 5-speed For Sale
It is hard to believe that this car is still available. It is a great combo, and, apparently, in great condition. Lots of the public just don't know how to approach these cars. I paid good money for my 92 G92 car, and it gets lots of attention at shows. I've told some what I paid, and most are knocked out at how "great" of a deal I got. On the other hand, I know that I would be hard pressed to get a reasonable offer for it should I decide to sell it around here. The average guy just isn't used to seeing these cars as $10k cars. Other collectors who have no problem spending cubic money on other cars are reluctant to pay too much for the cars, too, as no one wants to take a chance. I have seen this type of stuff with other, previously low dollar cars over the years. Those who are buying the GOOD cars now are ahead of the curve today at the prices they are bringing. I WANT to spend the right money for a good car. Anyone who has spent good money on a project car, only to end up with more $ in it than a much better car would have cost initially understands this.

Re: 1984 Camaro Z-28 H.O. 5-speed For Sale
Oldtimer is exactly right. I've had plenty of low ball offers in the 5-7k range by folks who barely know that Camaro has five generations! Lol
I owe nothing on this car so it's no problem to wait for that buyer who knows what he or she is looking for. I do have an interested party that has an offer on the table that's within a grand of my minimum.
Should I find my next car that I'm looking for, I may get very serious about that offer. And they know that.
All being said, I will reiterate that this car is the real deal just as described at the beginning of this thread. Whoever gets it will be getting a car that will increase in value over time. I'd keep it myself if I didn't need 5 seatbelts for my family to enjoy it with me!
So here's another bump for more exposure to the expert third gen owners of this site who can appreciate the value of our cars

Like you I owe nothing on mine and don't need the money for an operation or anything like that. I have been offered ten grand for mine but I will just keep it for that.
