1991 Camaro Z28 DEI 383 Stroker - PRICE DROP - $3500
I have a 1991 Camaro Z28 G92 with 61,xxx original miles with excellent original interior. The original L98 350 was pulled a while back and a big block was dropped in but since has become the owner of a Dale Earnhardt Intimidator 383. It is power everything and the a/c was re-installed after the stroker swap, the smog pump was removed without a delete pulley, I worked with a thread on Third Gen Org to not need a delete pulley and still have the under drive set up with everything rotating correctly. This car belonged to my uncle about 15 years ago but he traded it for a built Nova. The guy that bought it is a soldier and he deployed several times before being able to finish a big block swap he started. When I found out he was back at Fort Bragg, NC I went through hell trying to track him down. I finally found him and bought the car back without an engine, transmission or wiring harness. I had a 1992 305 TBI RS sitting around so I removed the harness and swapped it into the Z28 since I had planned on going EFI on the 383. I’m leaving for basic, airborne and ranger school to Fort Benning April 28th. I planned to finish the car but courtesy of the army I don’t have the time I’m trying to move my wife and daughter to a more appropriate area for a young wife while I’m gone. The previous owner lost the title my uncle gave him when he bought it 15 years ago so I have applied for a new title through the shop I work at in Raeford and I’m hoping it will be here before I leave. Right now I’m selling it as a race car for $4,000 OBO due to not having a title but if the title comes in soon I will be asking for $4,500OBO. If a buyer wants to buy it now without the title as a race car I will provide a bill of sale and a letter stating that soon as the title comes in itwill be signed over to the buyer at no extra charge. Here is a list of everything I can think of right off hand about the car and motor:
Dale Earnhardt Intimidator 383
- Four bolt main GM high nickel block
- Scat rotating assembly (Forged Clevite 5.700 rods, ARP bolts, Forged +.030 flat top pistons
- Pro-comp 215cc aluminum heads
- PBM Red Devil 1.5 Roller rockers
- Aluminum High Rise Valve Covers
- BBK Polished aluminum under drive pullies
- Demon 750 Carb with spacer
- Comp Cams .510 / .510 Hydraulic Flat Tappet Camshaft
- Chrome molly pushrods
- Forged flat top pistons and connecting rods
- Don Jon high rise intake
- Holley Electric high volume inline fuel pump
- Holley Fuel pressure regulator
- Melling high volume oil pump and double roller timing set
- Clevite rings
- GMMP bolts, freeze plugs and Fel Pro gaskets kit
- B&M Console Fit Megashifter with the 700-R4plate
- Gauge pod with coolant temp gauge and fuelpressure gauge
- Mufflex 5” exhaust system (not installed)
- New Sony explode front and rear speakers
- New Sony MP3 and USB CD player
- New hawks third gen carpet front and rear
- Original sunshade
- New Dorman power window motors
- Weld racing pro-star wheels (front is 15x3.5rear is 15x10)
- Strada 165R15 front 295/55R15 rear
- TCI Super Street fighter 700-R4 with Corvetteservos
- 3000rpm Monster Trans stall converter
- Hawks 5” fiber glass high rise pin on ram hood
- Hedman shorty headers
- Accel Pro-billet distributor computer controlledand locked at roughly 28 total timing
- Energy suspension front and rear sway bar end links
- Energy Suspension poly motor mounts and transmission mount
- 1.440 Valve Spring Set and matching steel retainers
I’m making this list while I’m at work so it will be updated a lot as I think of more, I have the engine build sheet at the house so I will be adding more once I get home tonight. The only things left to finish are having the exhaust extended to reach the shorty headers, the front calipers are locking up but once they are bled they release right up so I’m assuming the brake lines, replace a rear coolant hose by the heater core inlet, it got melted while I was adjusting the carb due to the open headers, re-wire the B&M neutral safety switch I’m using a jumper wire right under the ash tray for now. Also needs a trunk motor, the current one is a plastic gear and it broke in the middle of replacing the cargo area carpet and the front windshield has a crack across the left bottom corner where a semi offered up a stone a few years ago. A minor thing is the head liner new but the guy didn’t use enough adhesive for the cloth so it is sagging a little by the driver side window. I will more than likely end up replacing the coolant hose and due some other minor repairs since I can’t sit still and it’s at the shop I work at in Raeford. The interior is in amazing shape to be original and over 20 years old.

Well it depends on what you have to trade, trade plus cash is nice too lol trying to hit a certain cash in pocket mark the rest would be for a cushion but a cushion of another item is nice too lol

No the damn NC DMV is very courteous with the "it's still pending check back in a day or two" phrase. Even stressing to them I'm leaving for the Army seems no weight for them to press on faster.

Re: 1991 Camaro Z28 DEI 383 Stroker - PRICE DROP - $3500
I know what you mean. Had a big headache with them a few years back, getting the title for my Camaro. They kept insisting I had a title from Oklahoma that they needed from when I was stationed there. Finally had to have the Oklahoma DMV send them a letter stating the car was not and had never been titled there....idiots
