Car: A 1992 RS Camaro when it's done. Engine: 350 Transmission: Automatic Axle/Gears: 3.73 | The 92 RS, Engine Pics
The 350 we bought, before we took it apart.
After we took it apart...
One more...
Now here are some pictures of us lifting out the original 305 with exactly 264,894 and 3/4ths a mile on it!
We are taking the 350 to a machine shop to get prepped for rebuild, then the real work starts! All feedback is appreciated |

whats the plans for the 350? build wise?
hope you have a decent stall and some rear end gears, that alone made my 350 swap a whole new animal.

I was thinking Aluminum Heads by Hooker, an Edelbrock high rise intake manifold, a Crane Camshaft (basically the whole valve assembly by Crane) Ross forged pistons, an 850 Holley Carb, a rear end Posi-Track, and The Rear Gear at 3.75 lol |

It's hard to tell in the pics but those cylinder walls look like that have some pretty bad rust on em, did the machine shop tell you how much they're gonna have to punch it out? Hopefully the rust isn't too deep.. even if it is 350 blocks can be had for $50 or so all day long so it wouldn't be that big of a loss..

I have literally no history of the engine besides the fact that it has 30,000 miles on it. I haven't communicated with the machine shop yet, but I don't think the rust is very deep, because it only sat outside for like two weeks on an engine stand. I'm pretty much waiting on my dad to decide on a machine shop |

If not take a look and see if there's anything stamped on top of the pistons you took out, something along the lines of ".030". Hopefully it's never been rebuilt before and still has its factory bore. It looks like it will defently need to be bored, with any luck there's enough metal left to get the holes cleaned up. |

I plan to basically just drive it around like any sixteen year old would, but I want some serious power behind it
My grandpa builds hot rods and he has been helping me out, but do you guys have any ideas of parts for the build? |

Well, if you don't know the parts to your engine, I would label everything you detach, and take TONS of picture for documentation. Once everything is un-hooked, drop your drive shaft, and then drop your transmission. It's a three person job for me, because we used an extending ladder underneath the car and had a person on each end hold it up, then we had another person unbolt the tranny, and it set right into the ladder, then we lowered it and pulled it out, then I would just get an engine lift and pull 'er out! lol |
