| New guy and a 92 RS Hi all, thought I’d say Hi and show you what I have been playing with. I’ve had my 92 RS Camaro for about 9 years and it has 83 thousand miles on it. When I got it there was 57 thousand miles on it. The original paint was looking pretty bad and the previous owner was very hard on the car. I had to replace both front fenders, the right fender was completely smashed in. I picked up a fiberglass hood, I liked the scoop on this hood because it reminded me of my 79 Camaro. Also from the side it looks like a regular cowl induction hood, pretty cool. I kind of copied the 4th gen stripes because I like how it accents the scoop and it sort of looks stock. The original strips looked kind of 70’s the way the bent on the sides. I wanted mine to look more aggressive so I straightened them. Where did I have it painted you ask? Maaco! Yes they can be a pain, but if you do most of the work yourself and keep on them for a driver it turned out pretty good. It only cost me $379.00 for the primer and paint and another $200 for the stripes. I opened up the scoop because I don’t like fake things like that, and cut my air cleaner top. I did not install a cold air box yet however. I have other plans for this car, like a 350 swap, so I will make a fiberglass cold air box to fit that engine and carb combination. Well that’s my driver, not a great car by any means but it gets lots of attention wherever I go and is fun to drive. Max
