.....Which has really wide, really low-tread summer tires. |

Car: 1987 Z28 Engine: Tree Fiddy (modded) Transmission: 700R4 | I have a problem....a big problem.....
So i was out paintballing (rampage) and the place has a pretty big dip to get out of the parking lot. As Im leaving I slowly go down, hear a THUD.....oh ****.....didt sound good. So me and my friends all park at Mcdonalds and I get out to look if i scraped my bumper or exhaust tip. Nothing. BUT, as we walk into Mcdonalds..... everyones worst nightmare......rust. So i drown my sorrows in a rootbeer. Then say good night to my friends and head home. WELL. Next morning Im curious about this phantom "rust" that just pooped up. So i go outside.....AND HOOOOLY ****. The rust gods visited me the previous night. Not like huge spots, but some hairline surface and then a finger nail size buldge and another surface spot on the fender. IM ****ING PISSED. Calgary = gay .....if it snows again Im seriously going to cry.
I think i need a winter beater from now on.......
anyone else with this kinda gay problem?? arrrggg..... winter sucks |

Car: 1991 Trans Am Engine: 305 TPI Transmission: 700 R4 Axle/Gears: 2.73's | Yup,what he said above.A simple paint job on these cars can result in a ground up restoration. What you decribed is typical of a third gen car.I have lived in many provinces in Canada and Calgary tends to be fairly gentle on our cars.
You haven't seen rust until you sit in my friends 91 project GTA.When he pulled the carpet out of the car he found holes the size of dinner plates in the floor boards. We are still not sure how he managed to drive the damn thing home without falling thru.It was driven in Nova Scotia for a few years until he purchased it here for 1000 bux.Oh and I wont even mention the issues once the ground effects were removed.....

I just let my friend test drive the 87. And he did a third gear to reverse shift. Thankfully the synchros wouldnt hear of it, and he realized what he did before he released the clutch. Then I drove the rest of the way. |

Harder shifts. Also bought a new fuel pump to install son. But I am sort of afraid. And I still have to finish my rockers.
Think I should put my summer rims/tires on? I hate those steelies I have right now... |

And yeah, my friend is a dumbass. He said it was because he was used to pulling it all the way over to the right to get it into fourth gear. I told dumbass that fourth was always directly back from third. Oi.
And the trans cooler was only ten bucks anyway.
As for tires, well it cant snow so much that I would need my winter ones for anything more than a day, an it? |

We had a really dumb sub that day. She came into the shop to see what all the noise was, we said we didnt know, then she looks around and goes "wow, smokey..." and walk away.
Anyhow, the trans cooler is like another radiator. See, there is one already inside your radiator that does an ok job at cooling your transmission. But if you keep it cooler, it will last longer and shift harder. So I went to the yard and got one from a truck (you also need one of you're towing) and cleaned it out and slapped 'er on. I spliced into the return line to the trans so the fluid would already be somewhat cooled from the radiator, and then ran some high pressure hose out in front of the rad to the cooler that I mounted on those 2 metal bars that form an X about 4" forward of the rad. So now I have 2 trans coolers, and though I dont haul cargo or anything, I do haul ***, and now my trans is better protected against overheating in 'extreme driving conditions.' |

Seeing as you were at "the yard" im thinking you meant pick your part?? if so....did you see and camaros with the 86+ GFX ?? cause i need a damn nose then i have them all.
Man i was just outside fixing some of the rust and wow.....its so nice out!.....If it snows, im going to cry. And for the past 2 days I havent had to scrape my windows of frost in the morning, i almost threw a party |

Car: 86 Camaro Engine: 2.8L MPFI Transmission: 700-R4 | Last time i was at PYP there were only 3 Camaros, 2 Berlinetta's and one Z28, but it had front damage so it wouldn't help you out, but then again that was probably 2-3 weeks ago now, there probably have one or 2 new ones atleast. |

I also saw a late 70's TA go in there the other day. I think it was the 400, because it had a shaker hood. Man I wanted to get at that thing, but when I asked about it inside the guy said that he had already claimed dibs on it. Apparently employees get first pick. That's why there is NEVER ANYTHING GOOD IN THERE. |

Car: 1987 Z28 Engine: Tree Fiddy (modded) Transmission: 700R4 | Let me guess about the one you seen with the GFX
Red 89 camaro
silver GFX
missing the side gfx and bumper.
major front end damage and no engine
Im good arent i?? haha i should know cause im the one who took the side gfx and the rear bumper
Man you shoulda just "secretly" injured the guy that claimed the 400. see, you gotta think about these things first |
