It's not so bad, really. The longer I wait, the more parts I end up buying. |

Car: 89 Camaro RS Engine: 305 TBI Transmission: 700r4 Axle/Gears: 2.73 | lol... isn't that the truth... By then it'll be winter... and then you can put it off some more. Then spring will come, and they you will start thinking.. "I should build the engine".. then summer hits.. and ah crap.. the cycle starts again.. |

Then I'll strip the body to bare metal over winter but in spring there won't be time to shoot it until the following fall. |

The block is parallel decked, honed, tapped, plugged, cleaned and painted, the crank is ground and the heads are milled and reassembled. |

I had my pistons balanced onto a new set of Eagle H beam rods to fix my cam clearance problems on Friday. A fair bit of weight had to be added back to the crank since the H beams are considerably heavier in the big ends than the old I beams. Fortunately all the weight was put back where it had been drilled out previously, so no expensive mallory metal or anything was needed. I trial-fit everything and found I'm going to need some more grinding on the block to clear the heavier rods, but at least I have a ton of clearance between the rods and cam. |

Ever finish your car Cody? Collin told me a while ago Ryan had his T-bird dynoed that showed something rediculous (high), dumbass couldn't even remember the #'s.... You know anything about that?
I'm 'restoring' an '82 TA now, i'll be starting a thread here about what i've done to the rear suspension in the canadian region forum here... |

| Penticton here..... I've got a 91 RS camaro 305 th700. Off the road right now, Tranny died Any of you guys know anybody scraping a 3rd gen. with manual tranny? I want to change it out and put a 5-speed in. I figure it is better to but a scrap car for all the parts, Clutch pedals, master cylinder...... Once my RS in back up and running it would be great to get together. |

| Found a good site for 3rd Generation part www.driverfx.ca and the best part is its Canadian.. Be careful some parts are marked way up. ie Console megashifter for Camaro at Lordco 213.00, on this site 370.38 wow big difference. But some parts are great... I found a coversion kit so I can put a th350 in my 91 RS. |

but if you get c-tire to order from driverfx.ca for you, then you usually don't pay any of the shipping, you just pick it up from c-tire. |

| Cranbrook is home I have wanted to run a car at the Salt Flats since I was in my mid teens.
Now I have the time and money to do it.
The plan is to get the car either this year or next, build it over the winter of '07 and run on the salt in '08.
Phase one is to get into the 130 mph club
Phase two is to get into the 150 mph club
Phase three is to go over 200 mph.
It starts now. |
