pioneer 1.5 din head unit

I installed a pioneer 1.5 din oversized head unit but it is not properly centered and keeps my radio trim plate from snapping in completely. I never had the original stereo in the car so i dont know if i'm missing any brackets. what can i do to make this thing look factory installed . thinking about drilling holes in the trim plate and screwing it down.

Whats holding it out? Does the radio cover all the holes?? On the back of the trim plate are four rectangular clips, and 4 little circular pegs. The pegs can probably do without so maybe you can cut them off, and then the clips might be able to snap in. Make sure you triple check it. Dont wanna screw something up.

When i made my custom plate, I neglected the pegs and had to cut the edges off the bracket i made.
