I just had to take my pioneer deh-p430 back to the place I got it to send it off the get repaired. I twill take ateast 2 weeks.
So I want to hook up my older cd player up.
It's a crappy boss 25x2 cd deck. So I am guessing I can only run my front speakers and not my 6x9's right?
Ok the problem. I cant seem to find a remote wire on my head unit To goto my amp that powers 2 12"s. What do I do? I will take a pic of the back of the cd player, etc.
Brb,
thanks

My remote wire on all of my head units have always been blue. Why don't you just hook it up to the accessory wire or hook up a toggle switch for now. Hope you figure it out.
You turn the car on and have power antenna the antenna will go up (ie. giving the antenna power)
You turn your car on and instead of putting the antenna up, its turning the amp on

That is not usually the case.
The power ant. wire is for that purpose.
Then there is a remote turn-on wire, for it's purpose.
On some decks, when you swithc to CD, the ant. wire turns off because it is no longer needed. You done need an ant. to listen to a cd. Then, no more subs. That is why they will have a remote wire also. Whenever the deck is on, that wire is constant. No matter if the radio is on, or any aux inputs...

I believe Kj is right, although I haven't seen any newer-model headunits where you weren't able to use the power-antenna wire as a turn-on without problems. I like the idea of wiring it directly to the battery with a switch, if you have no other options. It adds a nice sense of control over your system.

Yeah I would wire it to a switch but It will be a waste cause I wont need it when I get my other Headunit back newayz.
I dont have a power antena anyways so this will do.
All what your amp remote needs is a 12 volt power source. So anything that has 12 volts cha ching.. would turn on your amp. Aftermarket radios have this blue wire and it powers up your power antenna or amp. in your case the pink wire has 12 volts .. and it gives it power when your ignition is on.. all is good.. just make sure it shuts off when you turn off the ignition.. other wise you come out with one dead battery one morning

thats what i was thinking. why would you wire a remote from the battery with a switch? that seems like alot of extra work and unnecessary.
i think on MOST aftermarket radios, you can use the remote ant for a remote amp turnon. they are usually interchangable. of course if you have both, its best to use them where they are specified.

Ah you people have no vision. It's just a nice addition, that's all.
on my ex girlfriend's car, she has a power ant and then i put an amp in. The pioneer only has 1 12v lead, so i just put a splice. So the power antenna and the amp get 12V...less current, but still enough push for them to recognize and turn on.

i dont think you would lose any current there but i could be wrong. i had 2 amps and 2 small turnons coming off the same amp turn on and they all came on fine. now i just have the 2 amps.
if any of you are that concerned, you could just do what I did and put a toggle switch IN the remote wire, that way if the amps every get hot or anything you just flip the switch so they can cool off for a while.

you could also do this to turn off the bass. this could come in handy if bangin pretty loud and you pass by a cop. if he pulls you over, flip the switch and claim your subs dont work. you could turn it way up and there would still be no bass. just a thought, not trying to encourage law breaking:rockon: .
my new alpine headunit has a power ant and remote turn on....the ant is up only during radio use, not CD use...there is a new unit that you would have problems with if you tryed to do it like that.
i dunno about you guys but this CaysE seems like a phony to me, alot of his posts state general knowledge but there is always something that he adds to cover himself when he is wrong, i think he is just a post whore....

All I've ever done on here is try to help people out and offer my opinions like everyone else. If I was a post whore, I'd have 4000 posts, not 400. Keep it to yourself, kthx.

Its usually okay until you have three or more devices turning on from the same remote lead. Well, three or more is the number ive gotten from asking around. After that its usually wise to run a relay thats triggered from the remote wire, and turns on your accessories.

That's what a remote lead is.
There's a relay inside that amp that is triggered by the .5 amps from the HU. There's no need to worry about it. I've seen people run 5 amps off the remote lead from the HU. There is soo little current going through the remote wire that it can ground out and not hurt anything. After all, when's the last time you saw a remote lead with a fuse in it?
You could opt to bridge the 6 x 9"s to the cd deck, it shouldn't hurt.

like i said i had 4 devices and it never had a problem. im pretty sure you can have close to 10 and be just fine.
anyone want to loan their amps to me so i can try?
