I have a RF HX2 that has a blown voice coil, its a dual voice coil sub, but only one of them is blown "i think heh" how hard is it to repair these things, is it even worth trying, its not under warranty anymore cause i dont think i bought it from what they refer to as a authorized RF dealer, got to love ebay.

Personally, I would not try it. Just find a good site and buy a brand new one. And by the way, good choice of subs..... those things BUMP!

yeah i thought about running 2 10" HX2's and 1 15"HX2, not sure how they will sound together, i have always heard to not mix sub sizes, but also heard if its done right it turns out very well, my problem is i listen to alot of big bass rap, but i tend to have my heavy metal streaks of disturbed, chevelle(which rocks), etc and has alot of mid bass the 15 did not pick up, i was wondering with that combo if i could get more out of the heavy metal with the 10's

Most likely yes, 10's will not hit lows like a 12 or 15, but will plays mids much better. For your type of music I would reccommend 10"s.

so then i should go with the 2-10's and 1 15" of the RF, cause i think the 12" kenwoods would not give me enough with 2 of them, and i think the 12's would drown out the 10's

Yeah, that would be a good idea. Would sound pretty good IMO. Will more than likely have to use multiple amps. Probablly two.

if you run 3 speakers you better plan on using 2 amps, or else you will end up with a weird impedance level and the amp wont push wattage for crap. go for 2 12's. and i suggest just buying the box that goes in the Well in the back of the car. get one from your local car audio shop for 100 bucks. itll take you a week and 4 sheeds of wood trying to make it yourself, ...way too many angles to deal with and you will end up with a flimsy box full of air leaks.

Theres one angle that isnt 90Deg. And i used 36Degrees for it. Not hard.
yeah but im saying by the time you buy the 30 dollar sheet of wood, 10 bucks in carpet, 10 bucks in liquid nails, the liquid nail gun for 5 , id pay 30 bucks to have someone do it for me lol
i woudlnt be putting this system in a 3rd gen, i would probly end up putting in a second gen that will hopefully when im done look like this, or it could end up in my 89 5th avenue its a tank.

Ah, now I'm missing my old '73. And I paid $8 for a 4'x8' sheet of MDF @ Home Depot
Yeah, I only pay $10 here in the Oklahoma panhandle. Mostly cheap but can get kinda expensive. Ecspecially when your building your whole system yourself.
