fried RCA

I bought an mp off of ebay. MTX 250x. I somehow fried the RCA in it and i want to know how or what caused this to happen so I dont do it again.

how did you have the rca's connected to the deck?

i thought all RCA cables did was carry a signal to the amps, didnt know you could actually fry them.
