is this stuff any good?

-10" Rockford Fosgate Punch Sub:

10 inch Punch HE2 DVC (4 ohm x 2) Subwoofer with Polypropylene cone, BART foam surround, 2.5 inch aluminum voice coil former 800 watts peak.

-600 Watt Rockford 201S Amp:

50x2 @ 4 ohms, 100x2 @ 2 ohms, 200x 1 @ 4 ohms, 12dB fixed 80Hz/120Hz HP/AP/LP crossover, RCA and High Level Inputs, and 0/+6/+12dB Punch Bass Switch in a Solar-Tex cast aluminum heatsink.

I listen to a lot of double bass pedal metal stuff, I'm not looking for something to blow up my car, just something that sounds good and has some power

I know nothing about car audio, so be kind

well, future shop here in Canada has those for sale, plus a 10" sub box, wire kit, installation, and 4 year warranty for $534.99 (CDN remember) so I dont know.

I was thinking maybe around $1000 for everything, like deck all new speakers, etc...

Damn threw me off with that canadian dollars thing. So i'll just give ya an ideas of some good priced good products, as for how much they cost in canadia im unsure

as for a deck at a good price id stick to pioneer, they have been proven solid decks that can be had for a great price, but you pay for features

as for new speakers, id recomend infinity, for the price they are hard to beat...Personally i like CDT's www.thezeb.com has great deals on many different products, as for shipping to canada..i dont know

for subs i like www.edesignaudio.com...awesome subs at an awesome price

and amps.... www.avionixxusa.com has some good deals...

but with a 4 year warranty that doesnt sound too bad at all

just read reviews, ask plenty of questions, and read some more

that is good equipment but they are not matched up really. you either need a second sub just like the 1st or a mono amp. otherwise you really are not get the most out of that amp or the sub(s). good luck.

That sub will give you a 2ohm load. Make sure the amp you buy is 2 ohm stable bridged.
