Here's mine. I've finished making the box, but not got the money to buy a sub and amp yet.

I'm gonna put a single Alpine 10" Type-R in there, not too fussed about having massive bass, just enough to add some low notes.

The sub is mounted below the perspex screen and the inside of the box will be lit up by some sort of red light, to match the red cooling fans.

uh oh! design flaw!!! looks like you built this so you can lay your t-top bag over it... only problem is that will directly block those cooling fans!

try putting some spacers around the fan holes to lift the bag up enough to allow airflow.

otherwise... that's one hell of a box

Crazy, I love the contrast of your setup.... but it was crying, "steal me! steal me!"

maybe next time make it a cherry-colored, or black box?

Yeah i tried to tie in the color of my paint with it, and actually in person it was an eye catcher. Night pics are weird. everything was cut as 1 peice so it all fit together. Like the front was 1 peice, the top was 1 peice, and the back was 1 peice. It took me awhile to get everything to line up customly flush. Heres a pic to show, i kinda miss it but it was going to weigh me down a good bit.

It is a 3-stage paint job, and the color that goes down first is $964 a gallon and the next color is $308 a gallon.

I’m very glad that you like it. BTW: It’s not finish yet. All plastic pieces will be covered by yellow leather soon I hope $$$
ScrapMaker: Well it was not easy to put the sub in place. I’ve spend lots of time on details; however I'm very glad to obtain the goal. The subs are very easy removable (under them there is place for amps, tools, etc). The airspace so not so big, but with close hatch bass effect is amazing! The only problem is that I had to change the phases of one sub in order to get rid of "silent wave" effect due subs position against each other.
Saigon_Bob: When the Haich is closed subs are almost unvisible that’s another advantage

Dzien dobry? Jak są wy? That is an awesome set-up, same idea I had a few years ago for my Firebird (before I stupidly got rid of it) - but I was planning on using fiberglass so I could keep some of the curves so it would look stock.

nothing whatsoever.

other than the fact that you'll need some sort of sound deadening material in the taillight area, otherwise the locking mechanisms, and the taillights themselves will rattle to no end.

Only a few subs can take 1000 watts.. those are definitely not them.

it's actually 400wrms

even 2000wrms couldn't hurt the glass, unless you had some weird setup.

You would have to replace the front windows, and windsheild with titanium, weld them shut, and seal the car up like you would a vacuum tank... before the rear hatch would even begin to feel pain.

You would also need some serious woofers/amps to do any damage.

So it looks like the coast is clear.

Well, since we have very little numbers of cars in Poland I didn't make any plans of it. But I have some photos from construction period as well as I can create basic plans for you if you're interested. Boxes are easily removable, so it's not problem to make post-documentation. Just let me know.
Siwir
BTW: jrmaatta you should rather say “Dzien dobry? Jak się masz ?” but I’m really impressed. Do you have any polish family roots ?

I was pretty sure that spelling was correct (what you put), but poltran.com told me that other way?? I couldn't remember how to spell it, heh. My parents say that I'm not Polish, but everyone thinks that I am... weird, huh? I've been working at a grocery store for some time now (last day is tomorrow) and all the Polish people come up to me b/c they need somebody that understands them, and they think I'm Polish, heh.

This pic is realllly old (Summer 04), but it gives you a pretty good idea. My hair is cut a lot shorter now.

This is in my 2000 camaro and the box is sitting on top of the t-top slots, so I have enough room under the box to store the amplifier. The flap still closes so I can put some things in the trunk still without having it slide into the subs (and so people may not know I have them, so they dont get stolen).

I have had this setup for awhile now and am kinda looking for a change. I have the whole trunk and lid lines with dynamat xtreme, but there is still not stopping the entire trunk from rattling. Ideally, I would like to put the subs inside of that hump in the trunk, but I know that the gas tank probably takes up all that space. Does anyone know for sure to verify this?? Or if someone has other suggestions of eliminating some of that rattle better?

I found in the doors there is a plastic grille that has small rubber pieces that flap when you hit the hard bass notes. I just ripped the rubber pieces out, and my bass is clean.

Yeah, many people do this... it would be nice to just cut them so they look clean, like speaker ports instead
