My Bass box uses the entire depth of the rear, and is split into 2 with a partition down the middle to provide 2 separate air tight sections for each sub.
I had this setup for 3 weeks now and im considering dropping in two 3" ports for a few more db's !!.
this makes me want to start on my box before i get my car running right...going for 6 12's in back seat..only want a two person car..might mok it up in the morning with paneling to get my design...

Just built me a new 10"x2 box, other blasted apart, and relocated amp into spare tire area so its hidden from thief's! Gives me a lil bit more time to wake up and run outside with the slugger.
Bought a duel 10" box for the camaro when I got my first one. Put some explodes in there, and they exploded the bottom off the 1" mdf box :/ @ 1/2 amp power.
Made a new one with 3/4" FiberBoard, liquidnails, and pinchnailed.
Also moved the amp to its new home, spare tire well !
Some carpet is coming soon, wanted to make sure it held its own, and i stained it before ghetto spraying it to prevent the element from damaging it in the future.
Looking good! Did you build something for your amp to sit on in the spare tire area, or is it just sitting in there? I was thinking about building some sort of amp rack to put back there to hide my amp and cap, I was lust looking for some ideas.
I just used the spare tire mount, cocked it to the side a little bit, drilled 4 holes and it fit perfectly. I sanded a nice area under the amp down to bare shiny metal, slapped my ground there.
Amp does not shake, move at all !
ill go snap a finished pic really quick.
You could probably take a piece of 1/2 3/4" wood and make a shelf there or something, plenty of room, and that spare tire rack is hella strong.
I like the way it turned out. I really want to look into putting my amp in the spare tire area as I like the clean look with just the subs and box. My amp and cap and cd changer are all mounted on the hump right behind the back seat I think the pictures are somewhere in this thread lol. Thanks for the pictures I think I am going to look into running mine like that!
Yeah I thought about doing a "false" floor in mine. But that still doesnt take the amp and cap off the hump it just hides it a little better then leaving it in the open. Mine looks just like that without the false floor installed, to do something like that all I would need to do is add the piece of MDF to cover it.
Yeah a false floor would be the same thing all the wiring would be run underneath and the amp and cap and whatever else would sit inside and have the "flush" look. I would worry about my amp getting too hot with that restricting air flow. I also thought about that while entertaining the spare tire area as well. I think you've seen mine, its somewhere in this thread but I want to go a little cleaner look tho, clean off the hump area. 31601050041_medium.jpg
This is what mine looks as it sits now. I upgraded my amp and subs from the kenwood amp and sony subs to this MTW 801D amp and Kicker CVR subs...
Im all about ppl not seeing my stuff, unless I want them to see it
Some of you guys got some nice setups, but are you not afraid to walk out and see your car beat in and your **** jacked ?
Yea mine can not be seen from the outside unless I open my hatch. The tint on the hatch is dark and no one can see in. But I know what you mean about waking up and seeing your car all messed up. Here is what I found last sunday morning...Funny you say seeing your car jacked up...
Some kids thought this was "fun". I was away from my car for like 30 minutes to come back and find this...I am going to court tomarrow to see if I can get payment. They did about $1000 worth of damge to the windshield pinch welds and A frame pilar there. I havent had the car since last Sunday but I should hopfully be getting it back tomarrow I just talked to the bodyshop guys.
The story is they stole a shovel from a backyard and went around smashing windows. The dumb kids actually got caught red handed doing it to another car. I actually have court tomarrow so if I dont get paid you better believe I will handle things my own way. I will get their names and addresses tomarrow as well. But yeah $1000 for a new windshield and a lot of sheet metal work, trim pieces and paint around the window and A pillars...
Make a long story short, went home on leave from the US navy, my car was parked here @ NAS lemoore, I came back my car was gone, got towed without my knowledge, then i find out its like this and they want 4 grand to get it out of the impound wtf ? should have just put a gun to the fools head and got it back.
I had did a police report for my car, they came out, the kids even dropped an Id right by my car from the local high school, I sat for hours waiting for these pigs, and they ended up doing jack ****. But there gonna bust ole boy cuz his exhaust is to loud. One day ppl will stand up and not put up with these lazy *** cops anymore. Not even one finger print was lifted off my car even thou no one touched it besides the kids and you can see prints everywhere.
I took the ID down the police station and explained everything and there just like you could have planted that there, im like yea how the fuk am i gonna get a high school id when im 24 @ the time.
They pretty much ****ed me.
ever since then i make random trips outside to peep the scene and if i ever find anyone fuking with a car, ill be sure to break both arms and beat him/her senseless with his broken limbs.
I agree with you man, if I found out who was ****ing with my car/cars I'd take care of there car house and then them. No one has bothered to mess with me at all because they no Im a psycho and probably would do something like that....lol
I really hope if never happens just cause of the headaches of fixing it

Here some pics of mine 2 x 10'' sub. I'd like to keep as much free space as possible for long trips
Not finished yet, but just idea for F-body audio builders. Some more photos soon - right now engine rebuild in progress..., so car audio needs to be postpone.

Anyone have a diagram and some measurments for these boxes? I can't find anything through a search and would greatly appreciate any help with this.
Thanks
I don't feel like taking pictures, but I took the old box out of my Aunt's 4th gen, because her car is getting fully restored and updated with a brand new system. So I need to cut the edges to fit with the plastic, and it's just a tad bit different. It has 2 10's though.
here is my custom fiberglass sub box with molded chevy bowtie in between the middle of the subs and amp rack with 2 10" memphis subs and memphis belle amp.
Does any of you who have built your own box have the Dimensions needed to make it and the internal airspace needed, im thinking of either doing 1 Rockford T1, or 2 P3's all fiberglassed aswell as the amp rack

Box size depends on the space requirements of your subs. It should be made to match not just go with a generic box. There is a sticky at the top of the section about building a box for the back.
Here are some various states of my last setup (all various forms of 12's), started with JL Audio W0's, then went to JL Audio W3's, then Kicker L7's (the originals when they were black, before L5's came out). Haven't had another setup in an F-Body yet since then:

I loved them. The W3's were crisp, hit hard but not near as hard as the L7's did. Both were good, but now I think I would choose W3's seeing as I'm a little older now and the "hit hard" stuff isn't as important to me anymore. The W3's were real clean through most of the frequency range. The L7's were too but "deeper". I'll tell ya a pair of subs I LOVED were Rockford Fosgate P2's (couple years ago, not the newer ones). I ran 2 12's under the rear seat of my truck, they were perfect fit for that thing. Mainly due to space. I'm thinking of running a single W3 (or something similar) in my 86' just haven't decided how I'd do it yet.

How do you like 6x9s in the rear like that? I can't get rid of my sail panel rattle no matter how much sound deadening I do.. so i thought about a setup similar to that for my rear fill except for only using 2 6x9s
not really a sub box but... lol
not much and nowhere near finished but yep! heres a pic of my current setup for the backstage! 2 15" BEYMAS and a Menace Audio 300 RMS compression horn!
still to add
2 6.5" beyma bullet coned mid ranges
2 4" boss tweeters
(for back sails)
undecided of what to put up front!
any suggestions!

well i didnt do much dampaning but the 6x9's are still in the panels, um oh by the way every speaker in my car is "bass blocked" at 350hz the bass is all in the subs, the 6x8s are great right there but i wish they were faced a bit more tword people, the hifonics have 50rms on each it gets decently loud could be much louder with a bigger amp....hope that awnsered it......oh also my car has just about 0 rattles i dont use dynomat i use capet padding and liquid nails im not much of a racer so i could car less on weight but i really like the carpet method might try that
are those the t top tie downs mounted to the box, if so how to they work i want to build a high top box for my two twelve inch mofos and would need to do something like that
