I know about places like sounddomain.com and crutchfield.com, but I hear lots of people say that there are cheaper places to shop. Ebaymotors.com doesn't seem to have that much of a selection, and most sellers want crazy $$$ for shipping.
Preferably places that you've successfully ordered from, so I know they're legit.
TIA

I've bought from etronics.com, thezeb.com and sounddomain.com, all with great sucess. The great thing about sounddomain (and the zeb for that matter) is that they'll price match anybody elses prices.
I get on purecaraudio.com also, haven't ever purchased anything from them though. They have an online shipping estimater which is kind of nice. Best thing to do is just shop around online find a the lowest price and throw it sounddomain.com or thezeb.com and have them match it. thezeb.com is usually really good and they will knock down the pricematch by 20 to 30 bucks at times.
Don't go to ebaymotors.com just go to ebay.com and enter a search for what you are looking for. For example lets say a Panasonic head unit. You type in a head unit you like. You look at all the prices and pick the one with the lowest bid and lowest shipping. BTW..make sure its NEW.
Yeah only thing I didn't like about ikesound.com was when I bought my JBL 1200.1s through them they made me email them a picture of my Drivers ID and a picture of my credit card with the last 4 numbers blurred out... else they said they wouldn't ship out my 2 amps even after I had paid for them. I bought them over ebay from a clearance deal cause they were closing out their JBL amps at the time. Just for that fact I make a habit to not buy stuff from there cause they've pissed me off.
Ikesound pissed me off too...had an amp that blew and was a big hassle to get my money back...BTW amp install was perfect, but amp was defected. By talking to Ike things got done much faster.

justwoofers.com and just amps.com. they have the cheapest i have seen. some of he stuff isn't name brand but i got 2 american pro 12in sub and they are great.
with a lot of patience I got exactly what I wanted by referencing what I wanted on the factory website with what was offered on e-bay.ca (in Canada, eh). Lots of patience and cautious bidding got me all I was missing in less than one month, sounds awesome and cost <$400 Canadian for all
I've gotten a pioneer deh6600 (retails $300+) for $160, a pioneer deh24f, the 2400's sell for like $125 for $40 ($31+$9 for wiring harness), 4 pioneer 6x9's that are about $90 a pair for $12 a pair and same with the 4 pioneer 4x6's i got, a mtx 411 amp or something like that, retails for a few hundred, got it for lil over a hundred, 2 pioneer 12 inch subs that retail like 80 each for 12 each.....saved a lot...
not any fancy set ups, just upgrading my camaro and corolla from stock
OMG! Thats alot of links to scan through just to find the best price.... if only there was a web site that did that for you. hmmmm
I just find what I want, do an internet search at yahoo or google for the model number, then if thezeb or sounddomain carries it, have them do a price match from the site with the lowest price I find.
I just got my whole sound system from a few select companies with great sucess. I found that etronics.com techronics.com adn cablestogo.com were teh most reliable and reputible compaines.
For anyone shopping for subs look strongly at Adire Audio and especially Elementals Designs Subs. I have a 10 inch e10kx.2 sub and a kicker 200.1 amp and its plenty for me. Sounds fantastic. Elemental Designs goes out of there way to attain your business and I found customer service to be great! Product quality was second to none also and I've heard the warranty is great though i've never had to test it...I know its a 3yr warranty and I've heard of some people sending in there out of warranty drivers and still getting them replaced. Good product and good service.
but the best way is to hit up all the search engines after you figure out what model you want and just type in the item you are looking for and you will find the best price. ebay is an awesome place too. but buyer beware, make sure its new and from a company on ebay.
I use ebay.com almost exclusively. I usually try to buy from individuals, but if you are going to buy from a company... make sure you add up the shipping costs. Most companies will offer a great deal. But, they add in 25 bucks shipping to make up for it and also it may be a reconditioned from the factory item.. just some research on Ebay though and you will get some GREAT deals!!!
I frequent sounddomain.com , ikesound.com , and naturally EBay. I actually found ikesound about 4 years ago when i bought my old Pioneer Premier head unit on Ebay. I could've gotten it $5 cheaper buying through IkeSound directly, but i still got a good price. i went through 12Volt Electronics on Ebay and bought my new Pioneer Premier DEH-P660 head unit for $175 shipped. unfortunately, i bought a buttload of Infinity speakers (for mine and my girl's car) from Trading Circuit on Ebay, and they wouldn't combine shipping, so i paid nearly $40 in shipping, but I bought the speakers for an average of $7 a pair, so i t was still a good deal. sounddomain is decently priced, but you can always find it cheaper. although, they have a damn good message board, and all the accessories you need, plus TONS of helpful reviews.

EBAYEBAYEBAYEBAYEBAY! I can get 2 Infinity Kappa Perfect Subs (new) for about $250 (shipped) when sug. retail from Infinity for the same 2 subs would be upwards of $700... me thinks ebay will do.
I have checked out a lot of these sites and they seem to offer prices that are up to 50% off of normal retail. I was wondering what the average shipping charge is for these places? I have been browsing on ebay and such and shipping adds up to $30 which negates the initial savings. However, most of these places won't give you a shipping quote until you enter all of your personal info. I found some great prices on Ikesound but I won;t buy if I get the same total as I would from best buy.
I purchased a Hifonics 1605D (1600w Monoblock,) and it was defective on arrival.
Sent it in for RMA, got another one with another problem...
only thing is, it's their 'policy' not to allow more than one return per orginal purchase.
So I would not recommend these *******s, nor would I ever recommend Hifonics, unless you are in a position where you can keep returning them until you get a good one.
Did I mention they were just *******s in general on the phone? The 'tech' guy was nice, and even suggested I change my amp out for a more expensive one... which I was going to do.
I told them this, "look guys, I'm willing to GIVE you another TWO HUNDRED dollars to upgrade this amp..." and they would not take it... this doesn't even make sense from a business prospective...
reminds me of when a parent makes a rule for one child, that really doesn't apply to another, but has to enforce it or the other children (other sonic customers who abuse the policy) will quable about it forever.
Still doesn't change the fact that I spend about an hour on hold to get an answer I wasn't looking for in the first place...
Don't buy from Sonic Electronix, or Hifonics

Type in what you're looking for (like alpine cda-9847), enter your zip code, and you see the cheapest price with shipping and tax calculated. Not an online store, but if you want the TRUE lowest price (selling price + tax and shipping), pricegrabber works great at finding the store for you.
yes if you are shopping on ebay always look at how many pos feed back the seller has especialy when it is elect. and cost alot. also find out about return policy. i bought a pair of rf trf2215's off ebay and found out after i got them that they are spl only that means they dont play music that good (sounds like s**t) they are made for a bass cd that you can select the hz you want to play and just tear s**t up. the seller did not say anything about them being spl only and wanted to charge me a 20% restocking fee that comes to about 500.00 with shipping included. so i called paypal and they could not do anything so i called my credit card co. and they said send them back get proof of deliv. and we will do a charge back. pretty close
uh, if the seller mis-represented his item, ebay/paypal is obligated to fix the issue through their complaint resolution department... many of my friends have had to do this... many times ebay just eats the cost of the item and doesn't even ask you to send back the item...
and yeah, most spl stuff sounds awful, in my opinion...
yes i called rockford to find out the cubic feet for the box and the first thing out of his mouth was "you arent going to play music with these speakers are you!" and i said ah yah. then he said "it would sound like s**t" then i called paypal and they started a chargeback and then declined it. i did not understand nowhere in the ad for the speakers did it say SPL ONLY it just said competition woofer. i tried to explane it to them and they didnt listen i even had my local dealer send them a letter explaining this to them and they still denied the claim then i turnd to my discover card that i used to purchase the speakers with and they said they will take care of it just simply send the speakers back and get proof of delivery and we will refund your money. so if you are going to buy someting big via the internet always use a credit card to pay! if you get ripped off you cant get a money order or a check back after it clears but if they accept credit cards the credit card company can do a charge back against there account and give you your money back o ya the seller is best for less he is still selling these speakers on ebay so be careful when buying for him!
I bought all of my daughters equipment on-line at Locust Audio.com and I couldnt beat the prices, and he sells only new equipment, not used or refurbished
