I actually have quite a hard time.. My sub box is in the back, and my two amps are on the other area. Since I don't have a t-top bag (ebay here I came) I usually keep my tops on my bed...
The only way I can take them out on the fly is take out one and put it in the back seat, with the seat folded down. I suppose if I had a towel, they could overlap a bit, and I could take them both out.

heh, me too... I wonder if it's okay to post pictures of my setup?
2 12" Kicker Comp VR dual voice coil - 2 Ohm stable and a kicker amp. All built on my own. . .
nice setup man nice and clean i like how you built everything right up to the back seat and mounted the amp on it. Just for reference they tell you not to mount the amp on the box, i dunno if yours is or not, but they say it vibrates stuff loose in the amp. just a heads up

Well what i did was i built the box to fill the whole gap. Well i had absolutly no place to mount my amp and wasn't gonna chance just drilling to where it is now onto the original carpet. 1. it looked pretty tacky because the carpet was a different shade and 2. i didnt wanna risk hitting the gas tank. So what i did is went to Lowe's with the dimensions that i had and had them cut me a piece of board, went to the carpet section and matched the carpets. Took the board home and used a nail gun and sealed it to the top of the box and cut my holes. So all in all that amp is about as solid as it gets and not a thing will happen to it. What really helped with livining those subs up was adding the cotten in the box, probably double the pounding from those subs. The car has won to car shows and has won 1 bass off at 133.8 Db's in the class i had it in.

How big is your box? I ask because I have two 12s in my current box that only goes half-way to the bottom of the well... The manufacturer of my subwoofers claim the box matches perfectly... but perhaps some polyfil couldn't hurt...?

Same. I built mine to the half way point if i ever needed to remove it, it would be simple to take out if i ever had to change my tail lamp bulbs or whatever. You can buy the polyfill and spend 15-20 bucks on it, or you could just go to Jo-Ann Fabrics or Wal-Mart and just buy some of their generic brands and it do just as well. I love that i added in the box because it tricks the sub into thinking its not putting enough out.

yup i went the ragshop right by me and picked up their brand of poly-fil and its super cheap. good idea with mounting the amp, i had the same problem but thats because my box took up the entire space behind my back seats
My setup consists of a 200watt Pioneer DEH-4900IB Headunit. In the dash i have two 2-way 4"x6" 100watt highs, for mids i have two 4-way 6"x9" 200watt mids. In the trunk cavity i have two 760watt (ea.) Lightning Audio 10" subs run in series in a single piece of carpeted 1/2" plywood that uses the trunk cavity as the box; being pushed by a bridged 750watt Pioneer 4 channel amplifier.

Your wont be happy with that after awhile. You'll seem to think its not enough for you and that plywood bullcrap is what a soundshop was gonna pull on me when they wanted to install my system the first time i did it. By the way ive changed my whole system front to back probably a good 3 times now. Its a good cheap way to do it, but it doesn't look sleek at all in my opinion. I get so many compliments about mine and the fact i can still put things in the back, turn off the subs, and be ok with it. Or put the shade over the box, and if i decide to pull it back because the sun not beating on it so hard, kinda get a "wow i built that. . ." type of thought. haha.
Yeah I wasn't going to say anything but Plywood is the wrong way to build a box! It should be made from MDF 1/2" too 3/4". Well 3/4" is standard. glued with liquid nails on seams before screwed.
Sounds like you only have one piece of wood just laying in the trunk no real box? And that amp is all wrong on those speakers. I think! No where near 750watts. Not trying to be a *** just my .2
It took me only about 12 years to figure out the ash tray can be removed for cleaning. Removing it reveals a nice space to put an iPod, if you have a head unit that can interface with it. Most new head units can, but you usally have to buy an adaptor.
The head unit is a Pioneer, and the speakers are Kickers in the stock locations. I am planning on installing a cylinder type subwoofer in the rear compartment and carpeting it so it looks stock.
I like the hidden I-pod but as for the cylinder subs I am not a big fan! I was going to build a very small fiberglass box that bolts into the stock rear speaker plates and hold JL 8w0. they are small subs that only need 75watts each. A alpine 4x150 digital amp is so small and never gets hot so behind the rear cargo pocket no one will ever know. Dynaudio 5.25 in the front kicks with tweeters in the dash. Only thing that can be seen is the front kick panels, but with a custom fiberglass pod that mounts over the small carpeted area and same color carpet it shouldn't be too seen.

Yea see where you are coming from but i guess you would actually have to hear it to believe me. I know it may not be (nor do i think it is) the best setup in the world but i actually impressed me from the simplicty of it. The plywood is just what i had at the time, so naturally it will get changed. What is it you were saying about the amp being wrong not really followin you there? lol draw me a picture i guess.
JT's comment about the sun, i dont have that problem because i dont have the full back glass on the car. I have the fiberglass notchback hatch from Hawk's. So the hatch actually amplifies the woofers w/ no rattling. Appreciate your thoughts tho. Critiques are always a good thing.
I don't know the specs on that amp but unless that amp is a 4/2/1 bridged I would think a 2channel or a mono would be much better. Never mind to each his own.

Believe it or not. Haha that kicker amp i have on my setup is a 4 ch. Haha its an amp though that you can switch the setting from 4 speakers to 2 subs if you wanted to. The 6 knobs are my bass levels for both subs. Kick *** amp that kicks the hell out of my Mono Rockford Fosgate.
And a 4channel is a A/B amp not a D. I know it can work as long as the filter is on LPF and the crossover is set low. But it is a wast of power and no ideal.
2 12" Rockford P2s
2 700Watt Profile Amps a 4 channel and a mono box
Rockford fosgate Cap
Infinity Gold speakers
Pioneer head unit DEH-P600UB u know that 600 dollar one :P lol
JL Tweeters
Kick panel speakers
Its dirty back there working on my car been sitting for awhile. back seats coming out and 2 more 12s in a custom ported box is going too go there and a amp rack for the back will be coming soon this setup was just too get it done quick cant tell can ya lol
