2000 delco monsoon cd player not working

ok u guys seen to kno ur stuff when it comes to car audio. im not to into it as im more performance oriented but i do like to listen to music. anyway when i bought my car it had a aftermarket sony headunit in it. a few weeks ago i swaped it out for a 2000 delco monsoon unit. its outa a camaro. it will play the radio just fine but im having trouble with the cd. when i first put it in it played cds. then all of a sudden it got picky. now i can rearly if ever get it to play one. i blew out the insides where the cd goes with a blow gun. i also bought one of those cleaner cds. itll play that sometimes. so anyway what id like to kno is what do i need to do to get it workin? does it need to be rebuilt? by the way my car is a 89 and the factory harness has three connectors. the monsoon unit has five slots in the back. should my harness have five connectors? any help would be really appreciated. i tried searchin but found nothin.
matt
