Whine is driving me crazy

ALright, when i turn my radion on, there is this little whine that gets louder and louder, then almost sounds like it goes away, then does it over again...you can constantly hear it. i know pretty much nothing about stereos soo. I know the guy before me put different speakers in, and i've had the dash apart and there aren't ne speakers up there or nething, which i thought there were suppose to be. the speakers in there sound horrible the way they are so i'm planning on replacing them. If someone could give me a list of how many speakers were in the car and which ones to get, such as sizes and stuff. Like i know some of them were 4x6's but i think i can fit 6x9's in there. ne help would be greatly appreciated. thanks

Brady

Not sure about the whine, but if your car had a regular (as in non-premium) sound system, it should have 6x9s in the sail panels and 4x6s in the dash... one on each side for both applications.

More then likely and ground problem. But it may be better to just pull the hole thing out and start fresh, the right way.
